PXG 0211 irons - what do you think?

I can believe this. PXG's margins (prior to the 0211) allowed them to profitably give superior service, which they're known for. The 0211 margins aren't the same as the rest of their product line, but 0211 customers would naturally expect the best of both worlds.

It'll be interesting what PXG does with the 0211 after the holiday promo runs out.

Interesting. The 0211 may be taking sales away from the higher price point/profit line as stated. One way to turn the 0211 irons into a cult classic would

be to discontinue them after the promo ends. Even more interesting is that the Hero pricing has bounced around, over time, like a yo-yo. Time will tell.

No idea what they will be doing but it would make sense to discontinue the 0211 lineup if they want to now market the GEN 2 to the Heroes program.

Whether or not this is to keep the high end branding image or not, only Parsons and his marketing team know that for sure. As for profit margin, I don't think people really understand how much it costs to forge and machine the 0311 line with all of the weight inserts. So I am not convinced that the reason to discontinue the 0211 is based on profit margin.

Either way, I think the 0211's were a big success because it got a lot of people talking about PXG, and more importantly the 0211's "recruited" a lot of people to put PXG in the bag. I know that when it comes time to replace equipment I will consider PXG even if they only have the higher price point irons. And I can honestly say that this was not the case last December. So maybe that was their mission all along?

Amen. Everyone in this thread has read my story. Zero interest in PXG, out of my price range and had shot my personal best 79 a few rounds before with Wilson Staffs. The 0211 free fitting got me in the door. Now, the Hero program’s steep discount has me in a Gen1 driving iron and a putter, as well. Believe me, I was considering the woods, hybrid and wedges too. If I hadn’t just replaced those categories at the beginning of last season, I would have.

Callaway Mavrik 9* w/ Aldila ROGUE White 130 M.S.I. 60
Callaway Mavrik 3 wood w/ Aldila ROGUE White 130 M.S.I. 70

PXG Gen 5 0311 XP 5-7 w/ Mitsubishi MMT 80

I got fit for a full bag of PXG today including the 0211’s. We tried a ton of shafts and the C-Taper Lites were a clear winner for me so I spent the money to go with them.

Gen 2 driver and 3 wood, Gen 2 3 hybrid, 4-G 0211’s, 0311 55 and 60 wedges and a Gen 2 Bat Attack putter.

With Heroes pricing, upgraded iron shafts and upgraded grips (I hate the stock Lamkin Z5) it was around $2500 plus tax. Not bad for an entire bag.

Wow. Congrats. That’s a lot of links artillery! Can’t go wrong with C Taper Lites. Sounds like an excellent setup. And the Bat Attack is my favorite PXG putter.

Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond 10.5 w/Diamana TB 60S

PXG GEN6 5 wood w/Diamana S-plus 70 stiff

Yamaha RMX VD 7 wood w/Diamana S-plus 70 stiff

Wilson Staff Model CB 5-G w/DG s300 shafts

Edel T grind 54 w/Nippon 125 wedge shaft

Nice bag. I've not hit the 0211's, but was recently fit for 0311P's, driver and putter(s). So far I've only hit them at the range, but I have to say that I absolutely love them. I started with 5-P in the irons, the Gen 1 0811XF driver, and a Gen 1 mustang putter as well as a Gen 2 Bat Attack. I'm really torn between the two putters... the milled Gen 2's feel incredible, but that Mustang aligns and swings so nice. Probably should have got the Mustang in Gen 2 as well, but since it was only 125.00 for the Gen 1, I just couldn't pass it up.

Just learned of the current offerings for the Hero's program, so I jumped on and ended up buying a Gen 1 - 2 fairway wood, a Gen 1 -17 degree hybrid and a Gen 2 - 22 degree hybrid. Three pretty nice clubs for just over 400.00 bucks. Not bad at all. The hybrids will replace some Adams that are 11 years old, and I'm going to throw the 2 wood in for those times my driver decides he's gonna misbehave.

I'm seriously considering some of the forged wedges on the Hero's pricing as well, but would like to get some feedback from those of you who have first hand experience with them.

A few pages back I talked about my struggles of not getting fit and buying the 80g MMT's blindly. Hit them well on the sim but had horrible on course results. Just insanely bad results. PXG was gracious enough to let me come in and get fit for the right shaft. I ended up with the TT Elevate 95, I know 15 grams doesn't seem like much but it was a huge issue for me. Tempo was crazy off, couldn't feel the head of the club, just a mess. Tyler the fitter could have put me in a more expensive shaft but I had nearly identical results with the Elevate 95's but no upcharge.

Thanks! I had a similar experience, in reverse, hitting a Steelfiber 95 R shaft on the range. I liked it and ordered the 0211’s with that shaft. Lost 10-15 yards on each club but the dispersion was fantastic. I just can’t get the club head speed with the additional weight.

Called PXG and they’re going to replace with the 70g version. Love the clubs and will only have to pay the shipping.

A couple months ago, buddy of mine ordered me the 0211s, 6 iron through sand wedge...........7 clubs in all, with his hero discount. Got the mid sized grips, and stock shafts. Have been playing my 30 year old Pings, and it was time for a change. The new irons will take a bit of getting used to, but the signs are encouraging. They are 5 degrees stronger on the 6,7,8, and 9, and about 4 degrees stronger in the wedges. That alone takes some calculating when figuring out what club to use. Long story short, I've hit some really nice iron shots lately, and had more birdie putts. The clubs are lighter, and more balanced than my old ball and chains. Am sure I will continue to get more used to them. All in all, they are nice irons, and I would recommend them. PS: Still keeping my old Lob wedge and Sand wedge in the bag. The PXG Sand wedge is better out of the sand, but my old 57 degree is better for pitching around the greens.
