PXG 0211 irons - what do you think?

I hit the 0211s on the range today ... straight and high ... like them more than my G700s gamers ... hope to test the 0211s on a course next weekend.

I've had my set for about a month now. Very impressed, even coming off the Gen1 0311s. As expected they don't spin as much, but when struck correctly they go straight, fly high, and land soft. On Sunday I nailed a bunch of shots, including a 190 yd 5 iron to 8ft (with maybe a foot of roll) on 18 that got ooohs and aaaahs from both my playing partners and the spectators on the deck behind the green. Missed the eagle, but I'll never complain about a tap-in birdie to finish. Keeps me coming back!

I put the 0211's against my G410's at a fitting session recently at TPC San Antonio.

The 0211's flew higher, had more spin, were longer, had tighter dispersion and had better feel (at least IMO) than the G410's. Interestingly, the 0211's were fitted with the same Nippon 950GH shafts that are in my G410's so it was truly an apples to apples comparison. That said, I was getting better performance with the 0211's in most of the categories mentioned above with other shafts too before I settled on the Nippon's. If you have the G410's and you're on the fence I would recommend that you at least try them out.

Had the fitting today. On the launch monitor the 0211 7 iron carried 20 yards further than my titleist 735 cm. Technology has come a long way in 14 years. Ended up ordering 4-GW with 115 steelfiber shafts. Also got a 19 degree hybrid due to the fact the 4 iron now flies just about as far as my old 2 hybrid. They hybrid is very nice and will be a great option off the tee on short par 4's. It was carrying 230 on the launch monitor. I'm not a long hitter by any means. So to me this is huge. It also freed up a spot in my bag for another club since I've always carried a 3 iron. I suspect I'll need another wedge to close gapping between the 0211 GW and my current sand wedge.

I picked up a pair of 0211s with the hero discount. It was an easy decision between the 790s and the 0211s. I love the way that they feel and they are a huge improvement over the m2 irons that I had. I am playing 54 next weekend in Vegas so I am sure I'll get a good idea of how they play but during my lessons they feel great.

How do the 0211 compare “forgiveness wise” vs the G700?

I feel my 0211s are very forgiving, but in my opinion the G700 was in a class of it's own when it comes to forgiveness . As I have said on other threads I think the G700 is the best "point and shoot" iron I have ever played or hit. They go extremely high, crazy long, and straight.

Where the G700s struggled for my game is in versatility. The long blade length and thicker sole made it cumbersome when trying certain shots that I like to play.

I have G700’s but have only hit them off mats so far waiting for warm weather here in Michigan but found a good deal on a used set of 0211’s that should be here next week. Hope to hit them soon as all this positive feedback has me thinking.

2 completely different irons. 700’s are in a different category. 0211’s are closer to the 790’s in terms of irons. The 700’s are giant super game improvement irons. 0311SGI irons would be more comparable from the PXG line up.

Took advantage of the PXG reduced prices and arrived early for my 2pm fitting. On entry, was instructed not to enter the retail area and not to touch anything. Next order of business was to walk to the assembly are in the back building and meet with 2 nurses. Nurses read my temperature and I was good to enter the fitting bay.

Spent about 30 minutes (no patience to spend longer) in the fitting area hitting PXG 0211 7 iron with about 8 different shaft combinations. Hit my G700 7iron as well, specs 2 degrees up, +1 inch, Nippon Modus 105, Power Spec Lofts.

Walked out with 4-SW (9 irons), +1 degree upright, 2 degrees strong with Nippon 950 shafts, +1 inch. Total = $1116.94, tax included, free shipping.

PXG 0211 were great feeling, great looking irons, with better dispersion the the Ping G700

Mine get here Friday and luckily courses are still open. Elevate 95 reg flex, std loft/lie and 5 iron at 38”. Ordered them on the 17th so pretty quick turn around

I've had my 0211's for a over month now, but have not been able to him them due to recovering from a procedure on my elbow. Today is my 6 week anniversary and hope I get the all clear from the doc tomorrow afternoon and can get out and try these over the weekend.

I am about to order a set. I usually play a 46* pw then 52/58. Are you guys going with the 50* gap wedge? I trying to decide if I should just tweak the lofts one degree weak of get the gap wedge.

I went 5-Gw when I ordered and play a 54/60 for my wedges.

Maybe if they rehired Paige Spiranac to hand deliver them in a bikini it would be worth the $60.

but even with paying that much for shipping it’s still a better deal than most comparable sets.

couldn’t pass it up this time, hopefully I see them next week.
