Koepka made a lot of references to "his people", and "the guys" and "his buddies" I don't think she was at the forefront of any of those references. It was pretty clear during that walk with her that he didn't require any support from her.

Can't we just be happy we have the next hot streak golfer? Looking at the other guys, who knows how long this streak will last so just enjoy it! It's 3 years already!

>

> When it lasts this long in my mind it's more than a hot steak its his "normal", OK I don't expect him to continue winning back to back majors but he'll be a factor for a long time yet. Of course nobody can predict the future with certainty, he could get injured. We all know the best example of player looking almost unbeatable losing that edge, nothing lasts forever.

Yeah I don't mean it's a hot streak as in a short one, a la Justin Thomas, but more like Jordan Speith or Mcilroy where they had a few years where they were favorites to win majors every time they entered. We all thought they would keep going until they for some reason fell off their stellar play. I understand golf is not easy, and more than any major sport (except for tennis) you don't have other guys on your team to make up for your mistakes. Say NBA guys have a peak, and decline, and they are still considered top players in our minds. Golfers we know they are still good, but the fact that they aren't winning majors is the ultimate truth. Even though golfers have a much longer playing career their peak level is probably just as short for most guys (other than the ultra elite), and they can still win from time to time when they are past their prime.

Next test is Pebble. I just don’t see Brooks doing that well there. It’s not a bombers type of course. I’m already in his corner but if he can somehow win at Pebble the respect would go to a whole different level. DJ has played well there so there’s always hope but McDowell and Kite winning there and than GOATs Nicklaus and Woods makes it seem that the course and setup will not favor Brooks.

I wouldn't say "needs" but it saves on having to start another search for a man that will take very good care of her.

Le Golf c'est Tiger ; )

https://blog.timesunion.com/sportsmedia/pga-championship-preakness-ratings-both-stumble/19432/

The PGA Championship at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale delivered a disappointing 3.9 overnight Nielsen rating for the final round Sunday on CBS, surprising in that the tournament’s move from August to May was done in part to boost the potential TV audience. The rating was 36 percent lower than last year’s final round in August, when Tiger Woods was in contention and finished second.

The huge lead Koepka had combined with Tiger not making the cut is the easy explanation for the poor ratings. Tiger doesn't move the needle, he is the needle.

I blame the terrible broadcast from CBS, too much talk, commercials, and injected "technology" all over the place. Show more golf.

Tiger did often make the competition side of it boring in his golden years but admiring the excellence was always worth a watch. For the same reason I can't understand why so many golf fans said they didn't watch the PGA. Koepka or any other player dominating a major field will inevitably be high level golf.

My wife thought given the situation he was in, her actions indicated expectations that couldn't be met, and I agree. It wasn't possible under the circumstances. He was being pulled in all sorts of directions, as is normal. We're both clinically trained, but my wife still practices.

I'm not sure what is worse: (1) the fact that she was in Sharknado 5; or (2) the fact that she was in the first Sharknado and was not invited back until Sharknado 5.

They needed her to get the franchise back on track. She’s the Vin Diesel of Sharknado.

I thought she looked like someone who was uncomfortable and awkward with the all the cameras zoomed in on her and them. Anyone with anxiety ever been to a party or function and you only know a few people, or just one? You cling to that person and try to interact as much as you can.

I could be wrong on this one. But there are plenty of athletes, models, and average joes who will fumble around, fidget and be unsure of what to do or say when they are out of their element and do not want the spotlight on them.

Hopefully they are having a laugh about it all.

Maybe you are right, but she is an actress and model, so it's hard to imagine that she isn't comfortable in front of the camera. Also, I sincerely hope that the term "Koepka'd" catches on. I can see them sitting on the couch at home and him telling her he is sorry that he Koepka'd her on national TV. That would be amazing.

Ha, I hear ya. I was hoping kuched caught on as well. “You Kuched the bag guy? He makes like $8 an hour and it’s 1000 degrees outside today! Just cough up a few next time.” Or, “jimmy bet me $50 that he could hit a golf ball over a mountain, and then he freaking kuched me because he said there was a cross breeze and I blew an air horn in his backswing”.

Anyways. I thought about the actress part, but it happens to some athletes too. They can perform on the field with a stadium full of fans and cameras on them. But have to do an on air interview or speak to a large group in public, and some of very uncomfortable and awkward. I’m sure there are some actors and actresses that are fine doing their job, but do get anxious or nervous when they are in a public setting with all eyes on them with no lines to read.

I better get off the phone as my wife is giving me the stink eye and I don’t want to get Koepka’d again tonight. Even if it’s in private!

I remember many years ago at Riviera, Crenshaw missed a shortish putt to lose, it might have been in a playoff. His pretty young wife/(girlfriend?) came out to his side right after he'd shaken hands with the winner. You could have fried a steak on his forehead. She came out to give him a kiss, and he gave her a look that would stop a truck. She screeched to a halt. I don't know if they are still together, but she definitely learned something about giving an angry golfer some space that day.

FORE RIGHT!!!!

Beaten by a horse race and two NBA games, lol. FInchem (he was all over this one setting the groundwork) out-maneuvers PGA into competing with the NBA, the NBA, and it can't win, so he can duck the NFL with his faux playoffs.

Tiger effect is real, but these numbers are of historically low proportions including the Tiger era for a major.

So far, the condensed season in general has created its share of problems and the condensed major season will eventually prove one of the death knells of interest in professional golf.

> So far, the condensed season in general has created its share of problems and the condensed major season will eventually prove one of the death knells of interest in professional golf.

Well, the horse race lasted, what??? a couple of minutes?? I doubt that had a huge effect on the viewership of a 5 hour golf telecast. I have my doubts about the bulk of the NBA fans and the bulk of TV golf fans being largely in the same market.

Not having Tiger in the field at all leaves out a lot of casual fans. A huge lead going into the weekend rounds leaves out a lot of less casual fans. For much of the US, the weekend before Memorial Day is a busy time, with proms, and graduations, kids sports, and finally, after a long wet April and early May, maybe getting out and playing a little golf of our own.

FORE RIGHT!!!!
