COBRA L4V - The BOMB!!!!

Wow.  I was using a Cobra HS9 when the L4V hit the pavement, almost literally.  It sure sounded like you were smashing asphalt with one.     The HS9 was found to be hi-cor and that controversy never really made great pay dirt as it wasn't a popular head.   

 

Will it ever dethrone the 9015D?   Did it already?

Yep.  Had one.  Loved it.  Sold it.  Saw this thread.  Hopped on ebay and found a BRAND NEW IN PLASTIC 9* HEAD ONLY!  So... yeah.  Bought it.

Had one, meh. Sound didn't bother me then, but I'd pass on sound alone, now. The L5V wasn't much different/better.

How rare are these in that loft? 

 

Has a Fujikura Rombax 7X07 Extra Stiff Shaft.

No idea what that will be like. Looks like a made for shaft.

Good friend just cracked the face of his. Had it in the bag for 7-8 years easy. He tried other Cobra and TM drivers but always went back to the L4V.

Did you play with him regularly?  Must have been miserable.  I still have a couple of L4V combos in the basement, but unless I get them modded, they're just unusable in civil society, IMHO.

I had a King Cobra LD Speed back in the day that I thought was even worse, TBH.

IT IS RISEN!!! picked this up for a song!! Straight to the range, and BOOM!!! no way this beast is legal!! And to all the Peep's that said this head launches to high, uh.... What!?!? Look at stats from the past, Bruce/ Bryson/ Johnson, their driver apex is 120/130ft!!! Maybe all you amateur golfers that complained this head is to high launch , continue to hit low weak drives, and can't seem to figure out why your game sucks!!

I tell you what, go into your basement, grab this Titan from your deadbeat son , who has been living down there, and  snuggling with this club every night, because he popped his blowup Doll, then go straight to the range, tee it as hi as you can, swing so hard as you can, and then stand there and wait for the ball to come back, like a puppy in the yard waiting for you to come home from a 10 day vacation! Then, at some point,  you will realize, you just drove this golf ball right off this FU***N planet!!  Your welcome.

Have a 10 degree head plus the original head cover, the original shaft exist as well, but they got separated over the years 🙂

L4VX has a permanent spot in my bag as back up driver. If any of my dalliances with new drivers goes astray, the Cobra is always there to straighten things out! My playing partners lovingly call it the softball bat…haha. I still remember hitting it in a partially covered outdoor bay and the sound literally concussing my ears. It hit me so hard, my vision blacked for a second. 🤪

Of any club made, this one really calls out a person's nature. If you are a guy that hides from the spotlight, this club ISNT for you. However, if you are a natural showoff, HELLO 💪!!! If you love to announce, "I'm here,  get out of the way" this is it. The ultimate FIGJAMS driver if there ever was one.

I stopped by my parents house and went through some of my old stuff. I use to have an X/ 8.0 but I could not find it anywhere

It took me awhile to find the X/8.0 degree. Mines in very good condition.

 

From what I could tell it's pretty hard to find one. Did they not make many of them?

I believe it was tour only. It was so long ago I can’t remember

Regripped, as it had the factory original. And I have read all the pages, and Even though this head is supposed to be heavy, it feels super light. Which, just entices me to swing harder. Seriously, No matter how fast/hard a person swings this Beast, I have no idea how you could miss the sweet spot, oh, wait, the entire face IS the sweet spot.

I'm putting together a bag for my oldest son.  He has never played a full round of golf, as far as I know.  I have a reasonable idea what other clubs are going into his bag, but there is one spot that I'm already dead certain on. 

 

The Big Dog is going to be a L4V!

Idk what it says about us. I just love this club, there's no pressure, no expectation. Just swing like the ball owes you money, and punch a hole in the Sun. Have fun!!! And I tell you what, with all the Ball technology since this Godkiller came out, I'm guessing you can REALLY control, sound/ trajectory/spin.
