Best Players Irons '19

I just got a sweet deal on a set of new JPX919 Tour irons. 3-PW with Modus 120X for $700. Now, I just need someone to convince me that these are better than my Nike VR Pro Combo's (which are awesome) so I can take the plastic off.

I’ve been able to try all of them with different shafts. The Srixon are the best feeling irons I’ve hit in a while. Still not quite ready to move from my Bridgestone.

Let me know if those don't work out for you ;)

I've played about 10 rounds with these irons now and the V sole hasn't affected me what so ever. I am pretty shallow and came from MB's that would take dollar bills on most shots. With the Srixons I barely even feel them go through the turf but they still take a decent sized divot.

Hit the MP 20s MBs and MMCs today. I used the Project X 6.0 and the $ Taper KBS. Both shafts worked well, but seemed to get along better w the KBS.

I'm loving these irons and now I'm trying to figure out how to combo them. I'm thinking about going 4-7 MMC and 8-PW in MBs. Thinking about strengthening lofts a degree of 2 on the MBs.

I also hit the 785s with same shafts and the Modus 120 and didn't care for the bigger profile at address and they didnt feel near as good to me.

Keep in mind this waa off mats inside, but was pretty blown away with the MP20s w $ Taper.

@drvrwdge I previously played the Iblades with tour issue x100 so I’m very familiar with what you’re getting at. I played 900 tours previously and found them to be no more forgiving than blades so I went with an apex raw mb set up. Recently I switched to the 919 tours, and found them to be much more forgiving than the 900s, they are a bit larger so they don’t dig as much and I’ve combo’d them with mp 18 fli hi 3/4 and they have been great.

Also my buddy games the 785’s and they are great as well but I like the look and sole configuration from the 919 tours for my swing characteristics.

I had Srixon Z785’s, P760’s, 919 Forged, (Selling now), Apex Pro 19’s, FG Tour V6’s and C300 Forged and I will have to say, I tried out a set of Honma TW747 V’s the other day and fell in love with them, everything about them from the feel to performance is outstanding, highly highly highly overlooked set of irons and probably the best true players forging over ever hit. With that being said, I’ll have to say my favorites out of what I’ve owned would be the Z785’s and the P760’s with the P760’s taking the crown for me. The only reason I would rate the 785’s a little lower is due to the lofts and stopping power, flights were a little too low for my liking across the set and holding greens was a little scary at times, had no issues whatsoever with the 760’s.

I got Ping i210 last year and had a multitude of problems. They swapped my 8 iron because of a head issue, I reshafted them and now just lost all confidence in them. Many people I know who custom ordered from Ping all got their swing weights or length wrong.

I was fitted for Titleist T200 yesterday, felt amazing. Only problem, it was going too far. As someone rightfully pointed out, the T200 lofts are 1 club of T100s. Thinking if I should get the T100 at 1 degree stronger.

That being said, the price of T100s could buy 2 sets of Srixon Z785 irons. After reading so many good reviews on them, I'm torn between as there's no place I can try the Srixons where I am at.

Let's not forget the beautiful Mizuno 919 tours and the upcoming M20 MMC. I hit the MP18 MMC and instantly regretted getting the Ping i210.

Help me please! Lol.

Have to agree with you @mrmikeac The Honma irons felt amazing when I hit them. Great looking profile at address as well. Unfortunately, not very many people will think of them because of the lack of awareness. Fantastic irons though!

I am one of the few who don't get along with the V-sole. Found the wider Bridgestone sole with the preworn leading edge to be pretty versatile in all turf conditions for my wing which is more of a smooth build up of speed and shallow sweeping attack angle.

Just put a set of these in play. Somewhat shocked that my misses weren’t any worse than my 919 tours. Really love the look.

Maybe! I was gaming some px 6.5's in a set of apex mb raw's and really love the blueprints, thinking about throwing the blueprint 4 iron in.
