I believe it to be true. Many players habe said that beating the US meant more to them than winning majors.

Rickie and JT with one of the epic choke jobs of all time in a match play team event. 5 up after 7. Still 5 up after 10. Then 3 up with 3 to play. What a nuclear meltdown on 16-18. They deserve every bit of criticism they receive.

That said it was looking like 9-1 Internationals after the first two sessions yesterday. Now it's 10-8 with the 12 single matches on Sunday with some really poor USA play. Hope the singles matches are great.

Sorry but I didn’t see a serious discussion. Big difference between playing with emotion on occasion and having the talent to win multiple majors. Can’t magically have “it” and get “it” by thinking you can sustain some sort of adrenaline high in any sport, let alone claiming to believe that if a bunch of guys were more intense they would all of a sudden be all time greats in the game of golf.

I missed all these quotes from the guys on the International team claiming they want to beat the U.S. more than they want to win majors. Links please .... Louis? Ancer? Scott? Leishman? Who?

Even if that was true (and don’t believe it) that doesn’t mean they could win one, let alone several among them. In fact, if that was really the attitude, such a player just basically taking himself out of any possibility of winning a major and/or excusing his failure to do so.

I still feel like USA has an obvious advantage in singles, but they’ll need to win a few right out of the gate. If I were Tiger I would mix and match hot players with not players to start.
