I know he didn’t push anyone but him and his caddy are a team and the people he surrounds himself with definitely reflect onto him.

Abe has two guys to ask advice on beating Tiger in match play, Weir and O’hearn. He seems very comfortable on RM. Never count out a great putter in match play.

I for one cant wait to see this start. It’s basically dead even. Abe better come out and win. Seeing the best playing international slaughtered first out isn’t going to be a good motivator for the international side. He has a hot putter. But if it cools he’s toast , and quick.

Was really hoping for Tiger and Finau out early and Tiger out early wasn't any kind of stretch prediction-wise, but should be a good start.

I think Reed got lucky with his pairing and you never know. Having his coach should be a plus. He wins and that could be pretty big - and maybe more of a relief than motivating for the other players. I only guess that some would be happy to win this thing with him being 0-4 and getting roasted for 4 hours.

Only reason i think ancer has a chance is it’s hard to beat a good putter in match play but on the other hand it is tiger woods one of the greatest putters ever.

this presidents cup has been awesome, kinda wish Jason day wasn’t hurt (again) but can’t wait for tonight

You claimed that many of the players on the Internationals have stated they would rather win this event than a major. No harm in asking you to provide the links to that which you haven't done. If that was really said I'm sure plenty of folks including myself would be interested to read and evaluate the context/who said it and why. If not, well, there you are.

I haven’t read the entire thread, so apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere, but I wonder if this was even possible. I mean, obviously they could have sat them out, but I wonder if anyone on the team was even willing to play with Reed amidst the chaos. Tiger publicly claimed they were all rallying around a teammate, but it wouldn’t shock me to find out that behind the scenes Tiger’s phone was blowing up with texts from other players saying, “not me, not me.” Perhaps Webb was the only one willing to lay out the olive branch.

Reed loses, goes 0-4, we lose cup by a point and he becomes jive turkey this close to Thanksgiving. ?

Yeah Louie has the swing and the game to have won two or three at least. Hes been close at the master's a few times as well. Just goes to show how hard it is in this age of parity to win majors. It would be a travesty if Westwood or Paul Casey dint get at least one.

The IT looks more motivated and better prepared than the USA. Noticed same thing with Ryder Cup in France. Guys were not prepared, only one guy understood the course because he did his homework and played it before. US team has taken two days to learn this one. It will be too little too late, Will be shocked if IT does not win this. Fantastic course.

I'll see if I can find the links. I know Sergio and Poulter have said they can go without a major as "long as we beat the Americans". Of course that's the Ryder Cup but I meant international vs us team events in general. But is it not obvious that these events mean more to many international players based on their emotions? Some of these guys play like world beaters in these events but not in the regular tour events. I guess my big point that I didnt clearly state is that it's funny to me how seriously the internatjonals take these events. Look how stoic Ernie is LOL. Its like he believes this is finally hos chance to one up Tiger.
