I am sure I am not the only person that doesn't post using our iPhone's. I use Laptop and Firefox and encounter intermittent page lags.

Also, unable to see the full quote and high-light text in the quote to emphasis what I am specifically responding to. Additionally, after hitting "Post Comment" button below the page jumps to a random post in the thread and bounces the page a bit.

I read though editor instruction and appreciate the attempt to provide editing tools but they are rudimentary in common use aspects and other ways trying to appear like Word. At the same time the page configuration has totally eliminated my ability to use my own more thorough Firefox editing, spelling and thesaurus apps when posting.

We don't use Chrome because it's Google application concentric and they are slowly after broader control of their user base. For the same reason, we're not seeing any clients implementing Microsofts Edge either.

Might be time to use another service provider, my son works in IT and programmes complex systems that have to work together. The difference between the good and bad providers is the good ones have dedicated testers that test every aspect of any new code before it’s implemented into the working system, the way code interacts means you cannot simply assume it will be OK.

We are trying to troubleshoot issues that are verifiable as we cannot replicate every scenario. If you can’t participate then understandable.

There is lag in chrome I tried it.

 

look at the spell check function in your software . Perhaps older phones Do not have the processing power to run it and that’s why it lags.

Also while it is saving the draft , seems to freeze.

is there anyway we as users could disable spell check and or draft saving ?

That's a bit harsh. I don't think it's fair to compare golfwrx, an enjoyable little website the owners created as a lark, to a Fortune 100 company.

Heretofore, I've not posted in the website help forum. Only using it as a reference to read what others have been experiencing in the last 8 months. But now feel compelled to offer a comment. This site is a mess. The lag is intolerable. Multiple refreshes have been required this morning because the comment box locked up. Cursor moving around into unintended locations. A simple text composition that should have taken me 5 minutes to complete took 20 minutes. The quote function not working. (NTM, the inability to observe and edit a quote string is beyond stupid). There are a litany of issues being commented on in this sub-forum. No need for me to recite all of them. Seemingly starting with the 'enhanced editor' implementation.

I've been patient with this "upgrade" as you work through the issues. And fully understood the original necessity for the transition. Myself and a group of participants in a minuscule corner of WRX have been helping each other figure things out. But now, trying to engage with this site has transcended to a new level of frustration. And this small corner have been experiencing the same common issues. Hope the administrators realize there is a major problem with functionality as it relates to how we engage with this website. Fix it please.

FWIW. Using a MBP running OSX (10.14.6) and Safari (13.0.1).

Ok, on IOS how do you delete a quote box that is there (above) from auto draft? With this editor I don’t know how to get rid it.

Laggy for me on IOS. Seems to be thread dependent. If the more content on the current page of a thread, the worse it gets. I experimented by typing in the comment box of several threads.

If other forums have had issues with this editor, then seems like vanilla should sort it out. And golfwrx not use this editor until it is fixed.

Can you verify the lag on chrome or Firefox? At this point we know it’s Safari and older devices right now.I'm on Firefox on Windows 10, latest versions of both, and have lag. As others noted, it is worse when you have big chunks of text in an entry box, which is why I'm doing copy/paste on just the relevant part and making that a quote. My guess is that the rich editor is generating so much HTML in the background with a large block of text that it slows things down.

As of this morning, Sunday Australian time, WRX keeps intervening on my iPad, no matter what I am doing it opens WRX, May be time to say good bye, this site has gone from a user friendly to absolute rubbish in a very short time.

I can verify the lag on MS Edge on a Windows 10 system. Granted the hardware is old, perhaps ancient in tech terms, but the software is all up-to-date and the operating memory should be sufficient by current standards.

Although I am not using Chrome currently I recall having lag issues during the initial phases of the software upgrade several months ago.

I am typing this reply using my Galaxy S7 operating Android and am not currently experiencing any lag issues. Functionality of other features is hit and miss.

Tested for lag now in new iPhone 11 Pro Max .. no issues thru Safari

My iPad has chrome and safari, both have major lag problems and the back button does not stop it continues and deletes the whole post one letter at a time, my iPad is upto date and is checked by son who works in I T as a senior programmer, this post is slightly better as the curser is stable, all other problems still exist.

I quoted tolmij as a test and can confirm That I am unable to delete the quote. The only way to remove it is to navigate away and delete the draft.

Quote function working, but lag is still present. I was able to delete quoted text by clicking and backspacing. Italics, bold, stroked out, all work.
