Any thoughts on a Mevo+ vs an Xi Tour for outdoor use mostly with some indoor practice sessions? SIM will almost never be used, so not a major factor in the purchase of either product. Is the only real difference limited radar tracking vs full radar tracking, face to path, and face to target? Thanks for any insight!

That's why I bought it. Easier to carry around vs my x2 and more accurate then the mevo. Can dial in distances with wedges and warmup before I play with the skills app. Selling X2 cheap.

how much does Flightscope charge to unlock the Xi+ to the Tour? Have you heard them just do it without charging?

The quote I got to upgrade the Xi+ to the Xi Tour functionality was $3k. That was back in April of 2019.

I've never heard of FS folks doing it w/o charging.

The group I was with went to the PGA show to look at launch monitors - and left with two Mevo+ models.

One of the guys had his mind set on the SkyTrack but when he saw the Mevo+ he instantly purchased it.

It's going to be a hit for FS.

Can the new Mevo+ be hooked up with E6 connect? Or can you only play the courses that come with it? Currently have a Skytrak and run the E6 connect. Basic program has 27 course, wondering if I can run the same program off my PC, on the Mevo +

They only had 25 or so Mevo+ units at the show and they sold every one of them by Friday.

The COO of FS said they should ship 'in a few weeks'.

I'm really tied up on whether to buy a Mevo+.

Mevo is probably suitable, but again I could buy it and get itchy feet.

It seems the majority on here want it for golf simulation, however has anyone got it in mind for Golf improvement lol?

Is the ball data going to be really enough for 2k?

Just noticed on another forum that they were worried about the garage door interfering with radar. Would this only be if the unit was facing towards the door? I plan on hitting towards the back of the garage.

The simulation is really just the cherry on top in my opinion. One of the things i'm most exciting about is saving a video of my swings with the data included.

 

Edit: the skills/combine challenge thing will make a big difference in my practice too.

I would use for practice, the sim capability is just a bonus. I think this is as much data as you will get for $2k or less. All the same parameters as Skytrak, with the exception of decent angle, but adds AoA and spin loft... to add club face angle and path, add another $3k or mo

Never thought about the video to help identity stats against it. At the moment I guess on feel and try to remember what the shot shape was etc.

Skills/combine appeals to me too.

I may be wrong, but there may be a fee associated with saving videos. If I recall, look on the myflightscope.com site and click on the "upgrade" tab... saving your data to myflightscope is always free, but saving up to 10 videos costs $11.99/ year.. $24.99/year for 25 videos.. $49.99/MONTH for unlimited...

I'm sure I've wasted 2k on dumber things. If the resale is anything like ST you will probably be able to get rid of it for a small loss if you get it and don't like it.

 

I'm thinking this is something I could use probably 4-5 times a week. Seems worth it to me. Now to convince the old lady..

I really hate this subscription world I have too many of them. As long as I am able to play it back after the shot I think that is enough for me.

Right! Same here... the $99/year subscription to the GIP on SkyTrak just to get a better range was hard to swallow, but I paid it because it was actually worth it... If I go Mevo+ I would pay the $12 a year for 10 videos.. at least once just to play around with it... I don't see myself going back and reviewing all my videos and numbers very often though, so not something I see myself using often enough to keep it.
