I only made two purchases and both were great. I bought a Cobra F9 Speedback and Taylormade p760 irons. Both performed very well for me and are not leaving the bag any time soon.

WORST: Odyssey/Toulon Las Vegas. Feels great, looks great, nothing goes anywhere near the hole for me. Wanted to love it so muchBEST: swapping my Nippon105x to some Accra i125 x shafts in my 718CBs. Amazing feel, stout but responsive. Love them!

WORST: COBRA F9 DRIVER. Im sure many will disagree but the ball speed loss on low center hits are still Cobra's Achilles Heel. Maybe the new SpeedZone drivers will address that.

BEST: MIZUNO MP20 HMB. By far the best looking game improvement irons Ive ever owned. Turf interaction is top notch, sound and feel is great despite use of harder metal and multi piece construction, and distance from MP Series Mizunos? Yes please. I might buy another set in 2020 as a backup.

Limited purchases this year, so not much to work with.

Best: another 350g Mil-Spec that’s due to a trip to BOS for the oil can treatment

Worst: SM6 M grind 58*. I love my K grind 58* so much out of bunkers, but wanted to try something I could open up more off tight lies. Complete fail that I can never solid. Learned to hit the K on tight lies just fine

Worst was a toss up between 919Forged w/ PXLZ 5.5 and a Toulon Austin.

The Mizzy just didn't work for me ( shaft, I think) and I could never get the Austin lined up well.....

Best was G400 driver w/ HZRDUS Yellow and Ironically a Toulon Madison with a H7 neck instead of the normal slant neck.

The G400 has me driving the ball better than ever, and making more putts with the Madison, especially in the 8-12 ft range.

Honorable mention: Cobra Forged tec Black irons w/ Modus 105s. Haven't seriously considered anything else, except maybe the same heads with Recoil 95 F4s

Rogue ST Max LS or Paradym 10.5 (9.5) Ventus TR 5 R

Paradym 3HL  NVS 65 R

Best: P7TW. Just what I was looking for.

Honorable mention: PM grind 60, just a fun club to be creative with.

Worst: Ping G 3W (used) just didn’t get along with it.

2019 was a great year to experiment (for me). I’m looking forward to giving the TM SIM a go in 2020, but other than that I like what 2019 had to offer.

I did alot of tinkering this year but best this year is rogue white 130 msi 60tx i got from fellow wrxer its been a game changer in my m5.

The worst had to be apex pro 19 4-pw w s taper shafts, keep getting random jumpers from hollow face the distance is unpredictable so had to switch back to apex pro 16s. Much more predictable distance and flights.

The good:

Callaway PM grind ‘19 54 deg - I had first gen PM’s in every lift available, but never felt great with any from the fairway. That’s changed with the ‘19 version.

Ping G400 LST driver with Aldila Copper shaft - I’ve never played a more forgiving driver. If my swing is remotely good, the club is long and straight.

Black Lab BL7 - this is the second custom putter that I’ve purchased from Chip. It looks and performs beautifully.

Titleist Premium Sunday bag - this bag with ~10 clubs and <6 balls is a joy to walk with. This was my setup when playing with my ~6mo old son for the past 2 months. He napped in a stroller while I carried.

The bad:

Any club I’ve tried between driver and 4 iron. There have been many, and none work. I’ve got a couple left to try, and I may just give up if they don’t work (steel shafted 3 hybrid and a 20deg utility iron with a steel fiber shaft to match the 712U 4 iron)

Best was changing from KBS tour shafts to KBS c-taper 95 shafts.. I am no longer suffering from elbow pain and can shape the ball so much easier..

Worst was replacing my 818 h1 21 hybrid with a apex UT driving iron.. keeping the driving iron but replaced that with a F9 21 hybrid, which falls into a good purchase.

Best purchase - Taylormade 790 - best set of irons I've owned. Custom Epic Flash Driver - Loved the Epic Flash, but HATED the green. Picked up one on the BST that was custom blue and white. TM OO - I never hit 3 wood off the deck, so this is just another weapon for me.

Worst purchase - Titleist TS3. Was okay, but the Epic Flash was so much better. I got to return it though, so no worries.

Callaway Rogue ST Triple Diamond S - Ventus Black 7X

Cobra F9 - Ventus Black 8X

Ping Rapture Driving Iron - Ventus Black 9TX

i never got adjusted to them. with X100s, its was a no brainer as to where the head was in relation to the swing. this was different and ended up being a guessing game for me. inconsistent for my swing. but hey - everyone's different. i'd try them out before getting them installed!

Best Cobra F 9 irons are really easy to hit. Has elevated my iron game to another level. Ping Max did not work out till I lengthened it, and now it is a scoring weapon. Cobra 5 and 7 woods are long and forgiving. The Spyder Pro mid putter has great feel, and just gets better. It is touchy on alignment, but I am very close. Ping Glide 54*SS is my all around wedge, can use it for anything. Bad, it's not the clubs fault. The M4 irons just did nothing for me at all, and the P790 irons for me were unforgiving, I don't know why. I will take another look at them and try to figure it out, but the F9's are not going anywhere. tried different drivers, but nothing really bad. Will give the F8 driver another chance at a longer length. I just love the feel and flight off the face with it. I am a senior golfer playing senior shafts(graphite) so take it from there.

Bag is in overhaul mode

Love this topic.

BEST: KBS C Taper wedge shafts for my wedges from stock Vokey shafts OR Ping i210 irons...

Basically the same...

Best - F9 Tour Fairway, so versatile. Also going back to a Seemore putter was a game changer for me. That putter will never leave the bag.

Worst - F9 Driver. I bought into the hype and how horrible that turned out for me. Tried both heads in multiple settings. No matter what this thing spins a ton and is very draw biased. Will be running away from this one in 2020.

Hilariously bad - Aris golf balls. Covers are so bad a full 7 iron from the fairway shredded the cover off the ball.

Best-TS2 Driver. I loved the G400 Max. Kept it for two seasons. Started missing fairways this fall on both left and right. I know it was swing issue but felt like trying something new. Picked up the TS2 and it has been solid as a rock. So confident went standing over the ball. Went ahead and picked up the fairways and hybrids too because the shaft was also a great fit. 95-100 ss with quicker transition and hzrdus smoke fits me well.

Worst-Probably apex hybrids. They seemed so much more difficult to hit than the originals. Very unforgiving for my swing.

Best- Ping G400 Max Driver.

Worst- Taylormade M2 (2016) 5 wood.

Both were used and I was able to send the TM back for a refund. It was a great club. Just didn't fit me.

Honorable Mention for Worst - Ping Nome TR putter. I loved this thing, but the neck profile really put me off more than I thought it would. I found out that I prefer a plumber's neck.
