Is Taylormade replacing the P760 anytime soon?

... It seems like some here expect their irons to match their white belt, shoes and flat brimmed hat. I get the feeling from more than a few posts over the years that some here would choose an iron that looked great in their bag but didn't perform as well as another iron that did not suit their sense of style. Like everyone else, I would love my irons to look perfect not only at address but a perfect cavity as well. The obvious problem with that is, get 10 golfers in an iron design meeting and you will get 10 different answers as to exactly how the club head should look. So the only thing that is important is how it looks at address and how it performs. If the cavity has a design and color that is aesthetically pleasing as well, that is just icing on the cake.

Taylormade posted a club length measurement notice awhile back. Their new length measurement is 0.25" different since they're measuring to the ground plane

Iron was coming in June/July, but likely delayed now till fall ?

I think we can all assume the iron is done and ready to go - someone knows Exactly what it is

Not what I said. I don’t expect the 790’s to have the player’s look. It’s not offered as such. And there’s more to look than simply the top line.

Many liked the 760’s. Many did not. If you liked them, good for you. There’s no right/wrong answer to a question that’s inherently subjective. For many out there, the 760’s were a poor offering.

I can't speak for everyone, only me. I personally think it was a poor offering because it was an unattractive golf club. Many others felt the same. Performance-wise, it certainly wasn't bad, but it was not better than other player's offerings by other manufacturer's. As I and others have said, looks are important, even if numbers are great.

Some don't feel that way. For some, it was a great club. If so, that's great. Taste and preference are, by definition, subjective. But speaking for me, and I'm not the only one that feels this way, the 760 was a poor offering.

If you or others loved it, then really, that's all that matters.

Wasn't directed to you but that said, I have not seen a better looking iron at address than the P760's although a little thinner top line would be appreciated yet hard to do with a foam filed head. So which one of us is correct? Obviously we both are, because as GDTBath said we are talking about subjective opinions.

I concur, hard to beat the P760 look at address. I’ve had the P750’s they didn’t look nearly as good at address as the 760 does. The hosel to the bottom of the club face suits me perfectly! Beautiful transition an minimal offset.

... Isn't it crazy how few get the hosel transition correct? I also have my P760's bent 1* weak in the 4-pw which improves the offset to my eye.

From a distributor I deal with. Yes I ordered a club from TM March 30 an Club was delivered. Put in a subsequent order says May 22 as earliest ship date!

I really want to read about and see the new irons but I’m glad they aren’t out yet because i would have probably ordered them out of boredom. When in reality I don’t need to replace my irons until this winter.

I think the 760's look absolutely perfect at address. Find a way to make them fractionally bigger and I'm in all day long!!!

A much better way to convey the message I was trying to. TM makes good stuff. Always have and always will. Golf clubs are inherently subjective and probably what I should say is that for me, the 760’s didn’t move the needle. I think many people felt that way. Many love them and you do and they work for you, that’s all that matters.

I liked the 770’s and 750’s a lot. I owned a set of the 14 CB’s and they were great. Will be interested to see what’s next for TM.

I tried to custom build a set of 760s today and the ship time was 6/29. I know TM is saying their earliest ship date right now is 5/22, but the 760 heads said 6/29. Makes me wonder if their replacement is coming sooner?

I just picked up a set of 770. I love them so far. It's a good mix of tech, feel, looks, etc. I didn't care for the way the 760 looked where the top line meets the hosel.

Same here. I actually did order it, and it says July. When I tried to customize the exact same order but with 790 heads, it says May 22.

Wondering if they're really out of heads, or it's going to just cancel because of the replacement?

Yeah 790s and 7TWs all say ship dates of 5/22 and the 760s say early July.....
