Buyer on BST returns item, is he entitled to refund?

Again i didnt ask for it to "not be in my possession", and each person that Pm'd me I explained the reason I do not have it, and there response was the same "well let me know when you do, its a great price and Ill paypal", but as this takes 4/5days to get putter back people buy elsewhere.

Re-listing Items within 30 days is as well I thought? So if i re-listed that would be a "violation of BST rules" as well.

Everyone chiming in trying to nitpick the situation is not what I'm looking for. I will just post pictures here when I get it so people can see the condition and think to themselves if it should of been returned without reaching an agreement, then MODS can lock this thread.

Whether the OP asked for it to not be in his possession or not....if it’s not in one’s possession it simply shouldn’t be listed for sale.

Again, the rules are clear on this, just like they are on small/blurry pictures.

You posted asking for people to asses the situation. Now you're openly violating both the forum rules and generally acceptable practice. Sorry if you just want people to cheer you on, but that's not how this works. You are actively selling something you don't have in your possession and of which you don't even know the condition. How does that make sense to you?

And you are correct, re-listing is a violation of the rules as well. You don't get to flout the rules just because it is inconvenient for you. Again, that's not how this works.

Putter conditions are personal preference. The leading edge of the sole looks dinged up. Other than that it’s a fine putter. Asian Spec 350g which is pretty rare.

Wow, have to side with the seller in this situation, the buyer is absolutely in the wrong. The putter is exactly what you would expect for its age, it looks to be in great condition.

When i bought it on here i never rolled it once on grass and I was very happy with the condition when i picked it up 2 years ago or so!

Agreed. Simply buyers remorse. There is nothing about the original pictures that would lead one to believe it's in much different condition than it is.

The new pictures completely change the situation for me. The putter is in good condition for its age. Leading edge is a little bit dinged up, but that wouldn't bother me.

Wow, that's a da** fine putter! Easily a $3bill stick being the 350 model. Throw it up for sale on the bay, advertise properly as a 34/350 Asian spec, let the bidding begin, then laugh all the way to the bank.

If he hasn’t committed anyone to selling it yet, seems to me it might be prudent on his part to pull the listing and wait 30 days and relist it. Or sell it on eBay. The consensus seems to be the putter is probably worth more than he originally sold it for.

Interesting saga. I'm not a BST-er, have only bought once, thanks @wobgon for great experience, btw!
The pics in the ad were pretty poor IMO, but buyer willingly purchased based on the pics.
Simply just sending it back? That's odd.
Asking for payment via "friends and family" - IMO if you can't advertise it that way you also never should do it that way. But again seller wanted it and buyer took that risk, which was dumb, IMO.
Seems like it didn't need to escalate to starting a thread and calling out the buyer, or at least that was premature and I don't buy the "hey, he's a great guy and I'm not trying to throw him under, but here's his name", lol.
Doesn't the BST have dispute procedures? If so follow them and keep it zipped until the process resolves is where I come down.
Not excited about either at the moment, but good people can have disagreements.

Perhaps I didnt know it was asian mill-spec. I was just trying to pass along a good putter at a fair price when I sold it originally. I refunded the Buyer as soon as I uploaded the pictures of the putter, he was refunded the exact $182(I think it was) he paid. Since then it has found a new home for the same price.

Interesting thread though, I still feel like I was pretty honest with description, price, contact for more pictures. Hopefully this will not discourage folks from purchasing from me.

Depends if you're a collector or not. If so, keep it. If not, sell it for market value. I think if the original pics would have been clear, honest members would have let him know what he had in the ad thread.

I’m still looking for the damage. Great pics and even with the blurry pics, the putter was well-represented IMO. It’s sad the OP had to go through this. Sell a well-represented putter at a discount price and then having to deal with a return/refund/resell. Sad.

I’m glad you made the sale OP. I hope this time you don’t get it returned.
