I enjoy hearing the mic’d players blather on. It did make me realize that I need to stfu a little when I’m playing...no one, not even my wife when I’m playing with her needs to know something like “I took a little of an eight iron and should have hit it full” yet I’m nice enough to share these tantalizing tidbits regularly. Seriously I’m lucky my wife hasn’t hit me upside the head and told our playing partners “that was a choked down 8 I just killed my husband with. He just wouldn’t shut up”

It's simply an opinion. We aren't calling for punitive action. The "I guess you were perfect at 21" trope is so far off-base its laughable.

I was playing a US Open qualifier once, and one of my playing partners got rattled every time someone talked to him. I’m not a big talker on the course, but you better believe I talked to that guy the rest of the round. I talked his ear off about fishing. I go fishing maybe once every two years.

He shot over 85 and ran away from me after the round like I had an active case of the plague. There’s a good chance that guy has commented on this thread.
