New PXG 0211 Line

I am so tempted to grab a set of the 0211 and try the MMT 80S graphite...love them in my hybrids!

-1/2” 5-LW. I would order over the phone and request D1 5-9 and D2/3 PW-LW...I wonder if that’s even possible.

Unless they have changed their tune with the new line, PXG does nothing on SW for the 0211 irons.  You get what you get.  And IIRC, when I tried out the original 0211 with MMT 80 (shaft was too light for me), I had to slap on a good bit of lead tape to get the SW to D2 and up.  Especially if you order shorter shafts, I would expect a light SW.  Best to ask PXG directly though.

Saw they increased the 0211 iron price to $109 now each.  The $99 didn’t last long.

I ordered a set with elevate tour and they were able to get D4 swing weights on them.

0211 can be swingweighted depending on shaft. I actually think the extra 1/2” length is what helps them get heavier SW this time around.

That's why I got rid of my old 0211s and moved to the Gen2. I had to add a lot of lead tape on 7i to GW to get them SW'd where I wanted. With the Gen, they nailed the SWs, I even got them MOI matched. The screws provide a real benefit.

I had a set of original 0211 with Elevate Tour, and those swing-weighted fine around D2 and up.  As you say, it does depend on the shaft, and certainly if the shafts are now longer.  But with a shaft like the MMT 80, I would expect a pretty light swing weight (unless there is something different with the new 0211 heads, or PXG’s build methods).

Had a great call with PXG and then with my builder and due to the adjusted balance point of the MMT shafts, all propose that a SW in the D’s is likely. Anything like shorter, or heavier grip will allow for possible use of tip weights in a custom build, ofcourse not through the stock assembly at PXG. Going to order measure, and then if needed have my builder adjust with tip weights appropriately. Thanks guys order is in.

And that’s the answer right there. They aren’t adjusting for swing weight, they don’t have different weight heads, and they aren’t tip weighting clubs.
Maybe the extra length on the new 0211 makes up for it, and sure, depending on your shaft and length you may get clubs in the D range.
But if you bought a stock set of OG 0211 clubs, they came in c7-d0, and they didn’t care. It’s well documented.
My 0311x also came in at c9, and when I called them, they said sorry we can’t help you, we don’t use the screws to swing weight they are just for asthetics.

I was told the same thing by the area rep that the screws did nothing and they could not change SW with them. Some here say it is has been done but I trust the rep that it is not normal.

My 0211 set arrived last week somidecided to check the swingweights today. All came in between D0-D1. They are all standard specs with elevate 95 stiff and standard tour velvet grips. I did request for them to get as close to D1 as possible when I placed the order. That being said I will ever be able to shorten these even a 1/2 inch because that will drop the swingweight.

I did not realize that the stock specs were that much longer when I put the order in.

So far  they feel really good and fly very high and long. Only hit them at the range off the mat so no rounds yet until next weekend.

Unless they have completely changed how they designed the new series of irons, there is a port in the hosel that is used for swingweighting. My local shop has built many 0311 and 0211 iron sets and they get all the weights and components from PXG for the builds. I know a lot of people have said the new 0211 series is through PXG only but they are able to get components for custom builds now.

This is not true. They use a combo of hosel weights and heavier screws.

my father has 0311T Gen 3 irons with 60 gram MMT shafts. He ordered D3 and they had to be sent back because they came in at D0 the first time.

2 week wait later, we picked up his clubs and noticed a very small spot of lock tite on one of the toe screws and PXG building dept said they had to balance the hosel weight with heavier toe weight to correctly swing weight the irons.

you must specify swing weight when ordering. They will build them to any spec possible given the length, shaft, and grip option you select.

Unless the lighter shafts are different from the 125 MMT, the tip is not open enough to use a traditional tip weight.

Agreed!  Kind of thought it was going to be cheaper than $145 with the way PXG has been going lately.

I know on the Proto fairway and hybrids they dropped the price the day before the release from what they had originally told fitters.  Always possible they do the same.  I’ve heard and read that Bob usually wants it as low as the financials will allow.  Probably why their stuff was so high several years ago, had to recoup R&D and facility costs
