I see that the 0211st are already marked down to $145 from $195. They were never sold at that much right? Isn’t that false advertising? They look nice, and for $145 a club without upgraded shafts/grips is solid. But the upgraded options are expensive. $10 a club for $5 gp tour velvets?!

Spoke to pxg this morning. She explained to me the 0211st are for elite collegiate golfers. Was hesitant to recommend them to single digit handicaps.

to be honest, not sure she really knew better but was interesting either way.

figure I will go through a fitting in March when I’m in Scottsdale.

Doesn't make sense. Aren't college golfers usually single or better? Some folks are great iron players but suffer in another area, putting, driver accuracy, etc. So playing a certain type of club shouldn't be determined by handicap, IMO. I'm a 5, and I prefer a small head in my irons. Even the Gen 2 P that I play are a little big for my eye. That's why I was going to switch to the T.

That sounds really dumb. They literally bill them as forgiving blades. If you're a low single digit handicapper you can probably handle these just fine. I don't think she knows what she's talking about.

How's the forgiveness in the longer irons like 5/6? It would be hard to combo these irons so if I were to go for them I'd have to go all blades which seems a little daunting.

I didn't get to hit them, but as similar as the 7i was I won't be too concerned!

Quote from Bob from a news article about the release of these irons:

"We couldn't help it. We had to see if we could develop a pure tour blade that packs a punch at a killer price tag," said PXG founder and CEO Bob Parsons. "Good enough for the tour, but designed for the average Joe, 0211 ST Irons feel as good as they look and perform like a car on rails."

To me it's laughable that something like an X100 is an upcharge shaft. Especially from a company that's supposed to be a luxury brand. How come any TT shaft is a stock option for most other companies, but not PXG? It makes no sense to me. Kind of BS that it ends up bringing the cost way up. 40$ per club ends up bringing 5-PW up to $1100. For something that's supposed to be more affordable, it ends up being the same as every other manufacturer, or even a little more expensive than something like P7MB. I can actually just buy a bunch of X100 shafts for less than half the cost of the upcharge too. Feels like they're just hoping people won't pay attention or won't care about paying the extra money. Not to mention the absolutely horrendous grip selection.

I agree w/ this, I'm considering staying in my Gen3T's until these go on sale for $89-99 over the course of the next year and just pick them up then!

I'm going either these or the Gen 4 T. Gonna do a proper fitting like last time before I pull the trigger. March is a long time away!

Same, but I have Miura, TM, and Titleist on my short list too. I'm almost sure I want to do a combo set at this point though. Shouldn't take much to fit me. Thinking about late March for my fitting. Do we know when Gen 4 irons will be out?

Exactly, couldn't agree more -- I was wondering if I was the only one who when they started looking at PXG irons went out and picked up a set of uncut X100s for cheap off the Bay . . . just in case. I honestly don't know what these Elevate Tour Shafts perform/feel like but to my knowledge they're more expensive off the rack than the "legacy" dynamic gold (the non TI or AMT one that was stock for about 40 years). I can understand the Elevate Tour as the stock offering in the hollow body irons due to spin, but don't see the merit of that in a blade like the 0211ST or 0311ST.

Then again, they didn't ask me. (shrug)

So if I'm not crazy and not reading these charts wrong somehow someone please feel free to call me out, but I was looking at the 0211ST specs and the Gen 1 0311T specs and it appears as if the 0311T has less offset (?)

I really haven't looked at offset measurements before and have always just looked down at something and compared it relative to my AP2s, so forgive me if these numerical differences are minuscule and not noticeable to the naked eye. Would be interested to hear opinions and or analyses of this.

I think if you are a player who would want a head like the ST, you should be weakening the lofts which will also reduce the offset. I wouldn't worry that much about the offset since you'll reduce it a decent amount anyway.

Awesome thanks for the response.

Hypothetically based on these specs would you be looking in the realm of about 2 degrees weak?

I would talk to a rep and say I want them at the same loft as a Titleist 620MB. The PW is 1* strong, but the 7i is 2* strong. They will need to make adjustments per club potentially to get them to match modern blade lofts.

Very small differences. I can’t say for others in terms of noticing. I definitely wouldn’t notice but I don’t like middle irons with no offset. Golfwrx is anti-offset but I’m in the Chad Campbell camp: A bit of ofset frames the ball nicely IMO!

The testing TXG did on the Elevate showed little to no difference in spin vs other DG shafts. The Elevates do feel better though. The VSS definitely works. I am currently playing the Elevate Tour and the DG 120 in a combo set and in terms of performance on the course I couldn’t tell them apart. The Elevate just feels slightly livelier. I like it and wouldn’t hesitate to play it again in another iron.

As a UK buyer im a little disappointed in the UK pricing, the 0211st are $145, which is roughly £105, but on the UK PXG website they are £150, which is basically $200, i wouldnt mind but apparently they are even assembled in the UK now, just typical for us in the UK getting screwed on pricing

They are charging $1000 for the proto driver in Aus, and probably $450 plus shaft for the ST’s.

I'm a 5, and I prefer a small head in my irons. Even the Gen 2 P that I play are a little big for my eye. That's why I was going to switch to the T.

Agree with the P & T. I feel like the P's are almost the size of box store clubs (main brands) and the T's kind of ride perfectly right above the forgiveness of a MB in my opinion. It's compact enough and even though it's marked as a "Tour" club, they are not intimidating AT ALL. I went from Ping G400 straight to PXG Gen3 T's. I do have P's for my 4, 5, & 6i.
