I think they said Kirk needs no worse than 2 way tie for 2nd to keep status, that's looking tough at the moment.

 

Edit: now I'm reading 2 way tie for third and now clutch birdie at 18 looks likely!

Ironically on a few tee boxes, Na and Steele having to wait quite awhile for Neimann to decide what to do.  Steele make, Na miss on 17 lookout on 18.  This has been a fun back 9.

It's wild to think just a few years ago the guy had the yips on the tee box and was easily the most hated player in golf for his slow play antics. Now everyone is pulling for him and wants to see him walking in putts at Whistling Straights. Talk about a turn around!

I think it was less slow play antics and more that he had some driver demons in his head.   He sure had fixed that and was really honest about what he was dealing with.  Some others like Ian Baker Finch never could get past it.

Would love to see him make a team event.

The antics was the standing there and swinging and missing on purpose a handful of times before pulling the trigger. Players were getting visibly angry with him. He was getting his group put in the clock right and then left. Rock bottom was the 14 or whatever he took on the one hole in Texas. I'm happy for him that he climbed out of that deep dark hole, but it was ugly there for a while.

Always stoked to see K. Na win. Between the yips and the personal struggles - he's fought back to be a consistent performer and when his putter's on, he's gonna be in the mix to win.
