G425 delivery times

I never doubted you for a second about the shafts…but I thought maybe my order from June was potentially being held up for another crazy reason of some sort as I thought I was way ahead of the shaft shortage but apparently I was not.

Yea, well I am done with Ping. Now they are saying NOVEMBER(so 5+ MONTHS!!!!!). I am probably going to cancel and most likely just wait till next season and order something OTHER THAN Ping. This is absolutely ridiculous and completely unacceptable at this point. No other manufacturer is having these type insane delays(mentioned earlier my neighbor ordered a set of custom Maveriks in July and got them in just 6 or so weeks).

One interesting thing with the g425 line is the rogue white 70/80 was a non upcharge shaft. I wanted to get the rogue white 60 and was told it was a $220 upcharge. I can’t remember seeing that much of an upcharge between the same shaft just different weights.

Yep, I had noted that when the G425 woods were released.  Had to be some sort of deal that Ping struck with Aldila for the 70/80, but not the 60 (which was a big stock shaft for the Callaway Mavrik line and is a great shaft--still have it and use it from time to time).  Always some shaft shenanigans going on.  At least Ping generally offers the Tensei Orange as stock (CK and now AV), plus the venerable Ping Tour shafts.

Most of the manufactures are still having this issue, not just Ping. Srixon is finally catching up to certain clubs that they have had inventory issues with, just depends on what you are ordering. TM, Callaway and Titleist still experiencing the same. I saw on one of the TM threads that there are guys that have been waiting 3-4 months as well with no definitive answer either.

Honestly, I think the only one doing pretty well right now on timing is PXG.  Srixon was very bad, but seems to maybe be doing a bit better.  Anecdotally, Ping, TM, Titleist and Callaway seem to be getting worse.  As an example, Callaway was turning iron sets around in a couple of weeks, but as of a week or two ago, they told me they were back-ordered on some LH Apex 21 heads until next year.  Still very much hit and miss.

Yup, agree with that until recently in my case.  I had some Callaway credit which I used on a couple of iron orders that I was returning until I got the shafts/heads right for me.  Couple of weeks at most build time by Callaway.  Then with the last return, I wanted to use the credit on a set of 5-AW Apex 21 irons, and 3 of the 7 heads were now apparently on back-order until after January.  Big YMMV on that as I am sure Callaway would still build a set quickly with all components in stock.

Ordered a G425 Max driver and 5 wood in Augusta 26th and they just came in today. Cut short with Alta shafts

Ping G425 irons, Alta 40 shaft, red dot, ordered early April. 24 weeks later the wait is over except for the 7-iron which I’m told will arrive in a couple of weeks. Patience is rewarded.

Two weeks, dang, why did it take so long. 1/2" over and power spec, plus mid size grips. They are awesome!! Blows the G425 away! Also has the newer smoke shafts with the black heads, if looks could kill.

Just ordered mine on Monday - G425 Orange Dots with AWT 2.0 Steel Stiff Shafts - Ordered after fitting from American Golf. Also ordered the G425 Max Driver with Tensei Raw Orange 65 Stiff. 

 

Was told I would get the Irons in January, and Driver should be around late November/Early December.

 

I've never had fitted clubs before, and equally never hit my irons so well as these, so happy to wait and get excited.

 

I am equally nervous about using my current clubs whilst I wait as don't want my swing or anything to change before I get the new ones, does anyone else feel like this? 😄

Ordered 425s late May and still waiting.  Can't say I feel nervous about my swing changing, however I find it quite ironic that my iron play with my current set is on point right now.  So I guess the only thing I'm feeling right now is buyer's remorse, haha.

May??  WTF did you order, lol?  Of course, you must have some backordered shafts, grips, etc.  I received my May order of G425 irons in July, and my August order of i210 irons in September.  Sorry to hear about your troubles, and kudos for your patience.

Nothing crazy: 5-UW with stock shafts and grips.  I knew the potential for a long, drawn out process.  Yeah, I'm a little bummed, but whatever.....

Sorry if this is already been mentioned I can’t read 21 pages to make sure.  This is straight from a Ping rep in Phoenix.  Yes, steel shafts are probably the number one supply chain issue.  Grips have been an issue too.  But the rep said unprecedented overall demand is the real reason.  The equipment industry is blowing up.  Club sales are insane this year.   I thought the game was dying?

I was told yesterday that an order placed NOW for G425 irons wouldn’t ship until December at the earliest, with January more likely.

I placed my order mid June and my local club retailer told me on Monday that he still knows nothing for certain but “looking like November or December”. Is what it is and It’ll be worth the wait when they do finally get here.

Ping delivered! Local shop ordered a 5w for me on Sept. 14. At the time, Ping said Dec or Jan. They called yesterday, and said it came in. Very happily surprised!

Since I’ve got a set of irons now I don’t hate, I’m cool to wait until they do finally come in. Hopefully it’ll be sooner than later though.

I hear you. I’ve been waiting on a 425 Max driver that I ordered on 6/28. I found out Thursday it’s been pushed back again until 11/15.

I’m between a rock and a hard place with this. I used my playability credit when I placed the order, so it’s not an easy cancel with PGASS, I’d have to spend the equivalent $$$ the same day I cancel.

Meanwhile, I’m loving the Epic Max I purchased in the interim, so even if I cancel the order and get the credit, I have no idea what I would buy.

At this point I might be better off if they keep pushing back delivery until January when the other OEMs release their new stuff and I can get a couple Callaway 4&5 hybrids.

Buddy placed an order for G425 irons with PX LZ's on 7/12.  Was suppose to be delivered in and around 8/23.  Got notification that they won't arrive until somewhere between November and January.  I don't know who's to blame, but I don't know how or why anybody would buy anything Ping, unless of course you live in winter climate states where the wait really doesn't matter.

It's not just Ping.  Others are backed up as well. Part of the ping issue is they make clubs as they are ordered and don't have huge amounts of inventory lying around.

 

I ordered iblades that took less than a month to arrive with Dg X100 shafts (ordered 9/2  arrived 9/28)  I was originally told it would be  a 4 month wait (which I was fine with since I expected that).
