Well Im glad its not another blade combo set is all they havent had a MP cavity back since the MP54 how long ago was that 8 years ago?    Im frankly glad they got smart and did the CB set as lefty option.   I was certainly upset when they did a JPX combo set and not offer the 921 Forged as a lefty option.   My guess the 223 wont be all that forgiving.

Did you forget about the MP-18 SC's? That was not very long ago at all lol. The JPX 921's were a CB as well....

I’m such a mizuno loyalist when it came to irons. I’m a bit more old school and love long irons. The HMB is possibly the worst club I’ve ever put in my bag. And the fact that it’s the only SEL option for you lefty’s has to be infuriating. Gonna either slang my mp20 mbs or hold onto the 5-P and sell these HMB long irons. Hope they improve on whatever the hell those things are. I’m officially a 21 T100 guy now.

😡.   My love/hate relationship with hmb continues……..

From what I've been told the:

221 Blade is smaller, they moved 7g of weight from the heel and toe and put it behind the sweet spot. 46* pw, 34* 7 iron.

223 is gonna be MP25 like.  Supposedly all the reps loved it and someone on tour already has them in their bag?

225 is smaller and thinner than the HMB, 44* pw, 30* 7 iron

STX fw's and hybrids coming in '22

T22 wedges have added a D and X grind.  10/14 launch

STG Driver 10/14 launch

Any weight rearrangment in the 225? Would think they'd need more tungsten to get a similar performance to the current HMB in a smaller package, especially if they've strengthened the lofts 2 degrees

I am praying they did not strengthen the lofts on 225 that much over HMB...

The whole point of HMB/225 is to be blended in with 223 and 221/MMC and MB. If they get much stronger that might be a problem for blending

I wonder if they looked more at the full set for loft changing. I think people didn’t really truly blend them and only used the HMB in 3/4 long irons so the loft change wouldn’t be as dramatic.

Have say, I am now more interested in the Miz 223 than the Ping i59, which is opposite of 30 days ago.

Same here!  I play the I210's and really was/am excited about the i59, but Mizuno 223 have taken the lead in my interest.  Hoping the 223 has a gap wedge🤞

But that is the beautiful thing about blending them. Weeken the lofts on the 225 and the offset will be more in line with the 221.

-Taylormade BRNR 11.5* set at 9.5* Ventus Red TR 7X playing 44.25”
-Mizuno STz 230 hybrid 16* set at 15* Ventus Blue 8X

-Mizuno STz 230 hybrid 19* Ventus Blue 9X

-Mizuno JPX 923 Forged4&5, Tour 6-PW Project X LS 6.5
-Titleist Vokey SM9 50F set to 51*, 56D, & 62M set to 61*

-Mizuno M-Craft OMOI Type 1 Blue Putter

I blended the current mb with the hmb 3&4. It does make it look better although  the topline is still massive. But bending that type of iron that weak came with issues. The hmb is designed to launch higher to help offset that low loft. What happened to me is i absolutely ballooned those HMBs and impossible to flight it down. The hmb imo didn’t blend well and the max id bend them weak is maybe 1 degree. Just my experience with it. Hope yours will be different.

After hitting the STG and T22 Wedges, looks like it will be  a good year for Mizuno in 21-22.

How did the STG sound? Did it look like a sub 460cc head? That driver really has me intrigued!

I know Luke Donald had one in the bag in place of his normal MP-20 4i a week or two ago

My sentiments exactly…I’d have the 921 Forged in the bag right now, if they were available in LH. Now it looks like the only option is the MMC, and I doubt they will be anywhere near as forgiving as the JPX Forged. So I’m probably sticking with PXG until Mizuno makes something worth buying for lefties.

Yep $79 for Gen2 cant beat it

MP 18 Sc stunk and didnt sell al all at least what I was told by Mizzy rep

They were definitely a harder to hit CB, but I wouldn't say they stunk. They were very soft, but not very forgiving. A lot of people thought it wasn't worth playing them because they weren't much more forgiving then MP-18 blade, but of course that choice wasn't offered to lefties.........The MP-18 SC's actually were one of my favorite lefty options from Mizuno of all time lol. I would gladly take them over the new set they are about to put out that is full of crappy feeling chromoly.  There's a lot of bad indians out there and plenty of good arrows, so I wouldn't say by any means they stunk. They probably just didn't fit your game.

P.S. The word of one Mizuno rep holds no bearing whatsoever. He was probably again talking about them being a bad seller for right hander's and not lefties. There's context to everything and I would say how you presented it is lacking some pretty important context.

To each their own and you say the Chromoly feels like crap yet they keep making many of their models with it?

Any idea on lofts on the 223?

I know there is a gap wedge - it is listed on the USGA database.

Which would seem to imply the lofts are stronger than the 221 MB.

Sound - after about a dozen drives - I summed it up as a pleasing metallic, mid pitched crack with real golf balls.

For comparison - looks smaller than a G425, slightly bigger footprint than Epic Speed. You've got forgiveness here in a pleasing, low spin, deep face. And you've got so many options on the weights.

I had a driver fitting today at a reputable place (they're on the GolfWrx panel of fitters for all the clubs the year stuff) and afterwards was shooting the s*** with some of the guys and I was told to expect a February release on the new Mizuno MP line.

I was hoping for the fall but with the production issues Mizuno and everyone else in the industry are going through right now, I'm not surprised.

It’s been mentioned on here for a couple weeks now.  Definitely a Feb 22 release.  Will announce them at the PGA show. Either in person or virtually.

why would they be meeting with reps this week if its a January release?

Reps will begin hiring the road to their accounts for the Spring Prebools next month.  Many of them have hundreds of accounts to visit.  Despite popular belief Mizuno does sell things other than clubs 😉.  Range ball orders, winter wear, spring ball orders Etc.  They usually also have the new clubs in hand to show.

I just want the official info so I can decide if I'm waiting to get the 22x's or a fresh set of 20's (In Aus, there's still some new sets here). Need a few snaps from address to see offset, and profile by a ball.

I really don't want to move away, but the longer things get delayed and pushed back, the more tempting a Titleist set is going to be.

I love Mizuno clubs, and I don't want to be disloyal with the mainstay - I just need a new set of irons soon as I can't keep using my current ones and play to the level I want.
