Still wish they matched my 770 better. But damn, they is good looking. Blowing the new titleist out of the water with the looks. They are enough of a better match for me to definitely get the 4 and 5 to replace my 2019 ones and try to blend them into 770. 
 

I’m a big titleist fan for woods and wedges but haven’t looked back since moving h back to TM irons for the first time since the days of the rac combo set.  They are just getting better and better.

I will be curious to see how they work for you. I could probably use more forgiveness in the 4 and 5 spot from the 770’s and the 790’s are the logical choice.

On the slimmer sole question... not sure but if the lefty 7 iron is the new one I'd guess its about the same. It still dwarfs the wedge next to it.

The sole is the same but the finish makes it appear smaller. That was one of the things I looked at. If you are thinking of a blended set ‘21 790 and ‘20 770 , remember that new frosted satin will look different at address as well as the back of the club.

So was I being lied to when I was told by my local store that TM have delayed the release till an unknown date due to lack of components? I was told it could be early next year until they actually release them.

TM customer service told me my irons would be in hand September 9th after the grip fiasco. I was just playing around on their site this morning and now it's showing the P790 iron component not being available until 09/09/21 (for left handed), so I'm assuming that pre-orders have already been filled. Also the shaft component I chose (Project X, 6.5, LZ) now shows not available until October. I really hope they already set aside shafts for pre-orders and that's why it has a new date now.

I can't tell if its the lighting but does the 8 iron appear to have a pre-worn leading edge? These look amazing, gamed the RAC LTs for a while, have been with mizuno for a long time now but these look sweet.

I also ordered the project X 6.0, LZ and it shows now on the TM site they won't be available till November.  I with you and really hope they set aside shafts for the pre-orders as I pre-ordered back on June 29th.

did TM contact you with that or did you have to call them?  I may call them and see what shafts are in stock and if its an acceptable replacement so that my order isn't delayed.

I just called TM and they said the new dates on the shafts DID NOT affect my order.

So Just a quick update.  I called customer service and your assumption that they will fill orders as they were placed and set aside the components as they became available is correct.  The website is updating based on what is available if you were to place the order at that point... example I purchased the Project XL 6.0 shafts and if I go on the site today and customize an order the exact way I placed my order the site is saying the shafts are available on 11/2.  customer service reassured me since I placed my order on June 29th that my shafts and grips are already with my order and all they are waiting on is the heads which will be available for me on August 24th and that my clubs will arrive on September 2nd the day before they are released. This is good news for people who have already preordered.   I would call Customer service on your order as they should be able to tell you when your order will be completed based on when you pre-ordered.  Did any of that make sense?  ha

I preordered on 6/30 and called TM to check in on my order status (4-PW, KBS C Taper 120, Golfpride MCC red/black) and they said I should have my order 9/2 still w/ no backorders pending for my combo.

they sent me an e-mail, then I called them with the # they provided
