Congratulations to Jin Young Ko for the win!

Unfortunately, Nelly will still enjoy a hefty margin of about 0.63 which should be enough cushion until she picks up her sticks again at The Amundi Evian Championship.

Just an explanation, Nelly will play Dow Team Event but players don't get Rolex points from team event.

Well, that was exciting. Down to the last putt. As Judy mentioned, Jin Young didn't quite have her A game today. A few errant shots, and a few missed putts. However, 8 wins in less than four full seasons ain't too shabby. I didn't think two under was going to win it, but while a few distant chasers put up low rounds, the nearest ones barely broke par.

Very impressed by Matilda's play this week, even though today's round was lackluster. Looks like we have a new crop of European players taking over for the old guard. Pity she's not eligible for the Solheim Cup team unless she wins the Women's Open or Evian.

It was good to see Esther bounce back from a rough start. No quit in her.

Gaby getting back into form. She's been quiet for a while.

Definitely glad the weather cooperated. The course looked like heck, but from what I saw the conditions weren't a factor in the end.

The Golf Channel ran an episode of 'Golf's Greatest Rounds' that featured the 2006 Open Championship at Royal Liverpool. Wow, talk about conditions. There was barely any green. Sure, they were playing on dormant grass, but it looked awful.

Not sure what can be done with this tournament down in Texas. Weather always seems to be a factor. If they move it to a new course there's no guarantee it won't suffer the same fate at some point. I guess the main question should be, when is the best time of the year in Dallas to improve the odds of having some decent weather?

I thought the issue was the freeze that hit Dallas over the winter and then flooding? They had to basically totally rebuild the course over the last few months.

Dont know if this has been mentioned but - why does the course look like crap? Is it a muni? The fairways look like the surface of the moon and even some of the greens are in disrepair?

Yes, it has been mentioned several times in this thread and on the telecast.

Texas was hit with an unprecedented deep freeze in February. On top of that, the course was later hit with flooding.

I can wake up any day of the year and play golf and can also drive to Monterey/Carmel, Napa, Yosemite or Tahoe in 3hrs or less and nothing “woke” has ever stopped me! 😂  Utopia??? I wouldn’t go that far. But it definitely works for me! Enjoy your 4th! ✌🏼

Good. Stay in California and make sure your friends do too.

I don't understand why the European team would set that limitation on which players can participate?  Of course everyone wants to play on the LPGA tour

Same as the Ryder Cup, you would want the players representing you to be playing significantly in the country/continent they represent. It also has the effect of keeping the European Tour fields a little stronger because the players are "forced" to play there.

Otherwise you have the President's Cup which for the longest time had neighbors from Florida playing each other.

I don't think anyone is spending 'significant' time on the European tours, just so they can play in Solheim or Ryder Cup.  There would be other reasons

It worked for the men in the early 2000s until the world game got too big (WGC), Sergio etc had to play X amount of European events because there were only 2 Captain's picks at the time.

Now the European tour has enough sponsors/players (events in Asia, Dubai, South Africa are stable enough) they could afford to change qualifications.

If you didn't "force" Hull, Van Damme, etc to show up on the European Tour every so often it would be like a NCAA quality field. Until they get stability, they can't afford to lose their stars.

For Europeans, men and women, the Cups are a big thing.

Congrats JYK.

I can't believe she made her last putt with the pin in considering how much the flag was fluttering.

OK...who was the tall blonde frizzy haired gal helping JYK to celebrate on the 18th green?

Was it Ko's caddie Brooker's daughter? I read they all stayed together with Ko's family this week.

Curious who you consider the old guard? Suzann, Anna and Beatriz, Aza?

Yeah, Carlota, Anna, and Aza for starters. Jodi and Caroline, too. Beatriz really hasn't been around for a few years.

That's funny...you sure aren't making the team by world ranking points by playing over in Europe.

My apologies. Last time I watched it was 5 from LET, 4 World Rankings, and 3 picks.

Apparently it has changed, and even more due to covid.

Its now 2 LET, 4 World ranking, 6 picks.
