Anybody confirm what hybrid that is? Think it's standard apex 21. Definitely a Ventus red shaft.

The Red profile makes perfect sense to have a HB shaft. This wouldn’t be the first shaft Fuji made for Phil specifically. The Black 6tx driver shaft started with him and is now more widely available as a tour only option

Hi guys - as always, kudos for your keen eyes. We wanted to quickly chime in that this is a VENTUS red wood shaft, not a new HB option. We do not have any VENTUS Red HB shafts for tour or in development.

if you listen to the TXG podcast episode with Johnny Wunder, he talks about a new "utility wood" proto that both Phil and Akshay are testing. Maybe that's what this is?

The bottom looks similar to the standard apex hybrid but the size profile looks larger from the pics Phil posted

 

Could definitely be some weird tour one off where it's a cross between an apex hybrid and a fairway wood

I have the red 9x in a 7 wood. tipped to inches to make it more purple (lol). Soo pretty much exactly this set up..

 

But. I still want a hybrid dedicated red to put in a utility (even though I already have the blue).. 

 

@Fujikura Golf if you need field future proto/experimental product testers. I am cheap and you know where to find me.. lol..

My biggest takeaway is that Phil doesn’t follow the bacon strip divot rule at the range.

Old school.. I honestly did not know that was the best till very recently. I was a patch guy. I thought that was the best.

So what the heck is this Tour One Off Phil is gaming at 'The Match'? 

 

Wunder reported on it? 

 

The sole just now looked like a cross between Super Hybrid and Apex '21. Size, mass, looked Super Hybridish too. Couldn't see whether adjustable or glued. 

 

 

.... EDIT .... Just came out of Phil's mouth on the One Club Challenge Hole .... Whatever the mystery club is, is his '4 Iron' (albeit a 4 Hybrid).

From what I could tell it just looked like the standard apex with the ventus red 9x.. I could totally be wrong though.. Callaway his hitting taylormade early 2000s levels of tour issue'd stuff these days.

It would seem that this "hybrid" is replacing the UT iron at 20.5 degrees seeing he had his 4 wood in the bag yesterday as well.
