In my experiences with hybrids, i always found that i could hit a 4 hybrid as long as a 3 or 4 hybrid, i guess due to the trajectory and carry i get with the 4.....Any one find this to be the case with the 19 and 17 UW.....I just grabbed a 17 and 21 to try but kind of wish I could compare the 19 to the 17.....Also, anyone playing a 19 and 21 in place of 17 and 21?

I hit both at PGA Super on monitor and was carrying the 19 further, but not 100% confident in result. Didn’t hit 17 much and would like to do again. I was comparing 17 degree G425 hybrid with 19 UW and UW was carrying about 5 yards on average further. Grabbed 17 UW at end just out of curiosity and didn’t put very good swings on it and only hit about 3 or 4 shots before stopping. Was getting tired so not definitive in my mind.

What kind of distance gaps have you been seeing between the 17 and 21?

Depends on how much speed the player has, but most were 10-20 yards.

The 19 is so awesome but I loved the idea of the 17 and 21.  Thought a fun bag might be:

Driver - 46” bomber

mini driver or strong 3w 11-13.5 range- tighter holes and the odd off the deck

 17 UW

19 UW

4 utility to keep up gaps

 5-P

52

58

 putter

no need to do this at my course but there are a few around that if I had membership there instead I’d consider something like that. Really awesome clubs.

Can confirm these things are super hot off the face. There's a par 3 at my club that's around 220-225. I've hit my 20 and 21 degree hybrids in the past. I was expecting the 19 degree UW to carry to the back of the green but it flew the green which is probably 235 on the fly. Did not expect the UW to be 15 yards longer even with 1-2 degrees less of loft. Will have some gapping issues on this hole but it worked out great for a couple of par 5s. Low strikes with the UW are hardly punished which is my usual miss.

I have a pretty specific question for everyone.

I am very interested in the UW as my second longest club to replace the 3 wood spot in the bag because I have always struggled with woods off the deck. Problem is, I’m a lefty which means the 19 degree is my only option. Can anyone comment on how much further this goes than their 19 degree hybrid? I have a 19* hybrid that will not leave my bag, it’s old reliable. 3 wood normally carries 235-240 at 15.5 degrees, so I’m looking to get as close to that as possible. Am I better off going with a 17* ping hybrid and lofting it down? Has anyone compared the yardage of a ping 17* hybrid to this UW?

My lefty UW is bent to 20* goes 245 comfortably from a little hotter face and lower spin.  My G400 19* hybrid was 20 shorter at 225 and that's with similar length shafts from memory.  This UW launches more like a 6w for me.  I also got the lie weakened as it's hard to find a flat hybrid.  I couldn't replace my 3w for windy days, or 4w normally, with the UW as I hit them both quite a bit further. I've used a SIM 5w (19*) turned down for par 5 approaches until I found this TI Mavrik SZ 4w that I get insane height out of.  I struggled to find the right size head and sole that works.

I have a playing partner who is scratch and he finally upgraded his old Adam’s hybrids to the UW. He went 17’ and 21’ for proper gapping. One thing to point out is the 17’ and 19’ are the same length so you aren’t getting the typical gains from a longer club. He even considered doing a 23’ over a 21’ but the 21’ sets up better for our home course

Anyone know if Callaway plans on releasing this type of club or something similar in their upcoming releases?

I have harassed Johnny Wonder anytime he does a live on his IG, had a live with TXG.... he keeps giving answers that suggest that no updates were expected with the UW, that the 23 degree will never see public release because it's too high spinning. He doesn't appreciate that I launch the 21 degree like 12 degree and spin it 2800-3200 but whatever ha.

Would love to see a 23, and an adjustable hosel as I keep swapping shafts.

I am giving two of these a go with the stock 70 gram shafts......17 and 21.......I am kind of surprised how high i am hitting the 17...too high in my opinion. anyone else find this to be the case....I was under the impression that this was more of a low launch bullet type of club.

i have the 19 with rdx 80g 6.5 and find it’s mainly a lower spin/flight but easy to hit a high cut if need or knock it low. Which shaft is it?

rdx 70g.....I only hit it several times in one round...probably need to work with it a little....I hit the 21 well with the same shaft.

The new Paradym hybrid might scratch that itch. Worth a test.

lol 14g forward weight. That thing prob spins like 1300rpm for anyone under 100mph with a 40" club.

I bought a demo Callaway UW in 21° at the golf town demo sale. I got it with the hazardous black shaft but in regular as I find it a fairly Stout shaft even at my hundred or so mile an hour driver swing speed. I have to tell you that I was mightily impressed with this club. I was easily seeing the same distances as my Titleist TSI to 7 wood but with a flatter trajectory and a more consistent ball flight.

God's honest truth, I thought I had a dream about a WRX Thread with a 15° UW, then I circled back here, and came to realize it wasn't a dream.
