So it sounds like this club plays a club longer. So if I was looking for a UW to replace my 3H spot, would y'all recommend going with the 21° over the 19°? Seems like most of y'all are using 17° to replace 3 wood.

yeah basically. I use the 21° to replace my 5 wood that was at 18°. It goes just as far maybe even longer and way straighter for me. This thing is stupid long.

But I wouldn’t go as far to say the 17° will be toe to toe with a standard FW. Different club dynamics with the 17°

Okay, you lot had me worried that I wasn't going to be able to launch the 17* with a stock RDX 80 6.5 I got from CPO. I did not need to be worried. This thing is an absolute rocket launcher and so straight. I had total driver yips, and it got me out of trouble multiple times as well as 260y tee shot to the front edge on the short par 4 on the course.

The 17 isn’t as long as a 3 wood but not short enough to notice a difference, it is however better from a fairway or rough.

Give up maybe max 10 yards off the tee. The smash factor is rarely below 1.5 it has to be illegal some how.

Hit my uw for the first time today. Swing was off as I’m working on some things. I did hit to really good balls. Love this more than the 3H it replaced. No hooks at all. The mmt 80s pairs well with my 4w tensei blue 75x shaft.

I didn’t get along with the 19 last spring, but I am going to re-shaft and test this month.
I have a choice of Ventus red or black.  I’ll go by the stock shaft results and decide which will be better.

Wildly opposite ends of the spectrum those.

What was the issue first time?

Honestly, I don’t remember.  It was like 10 months ago when I hit a bucket of balls with it.  Been collecting dust since.

I’m hitting it this afternoon and will see what the problem was.  If the spin is high I’ll probably go with the black.  If I can’t elevate it, I’ll probably go with the red.  Or it might go back into the shadows.

Any UW fans taking notice of the new TSR1 hybrid? As Ryan Barath pointed out on Instagram, its adapter takes a .335 shaft. And apparently the TSR2 hybrid can be special ordered with the adapter that takes a .335 shaft.

The UW has a 57* lie angle (can order it flat at 56*) for the 17 and 19 degree options and 57.5* for the 21 degree. The TSR1 hybrid is 57* (can be adjusted flat to 56.25*) in the 20 degree, and then 57.5* (can be adjusted flat to 56.75*) in the 23 degree.

I don't have headweights or know what back weights are offered, and the Titleist is 1-1.5" shorter than the Apex UW, so I can't really figure out just yet what adjustments you'd have to make to play it at 41" or 41.5" like the UW.

That said, for those of us who have wished for a little more adjustability, or a little more launch/spin out of the UW, or for higher-lofted lefty options ... this seems promising to me!

I don’t think there is a hybrid more adjustable than the king Tec hybrid.

I love mine…. It have been tempted to try the UW and super hybrid.

it looks like the UW are more low spin bombers… while the super hybrid is more a distance club….

was thinking about UW at 17* and then epic super hybrid at 21*…..

I like the adjustability of the SH to dial in distance … where as I just want my 17* to be my next longest club after driver… in place of a 3/4W.

any thoughts or feedback?

My 17° UW is only about 10-15 yards behind my 13.5° 3 wood, but far more accurate. A 15° 3 wood is half that distance, but twice the dispersion.

I’m having the same issue to the point where I’m thinking about going to a 19 degree uw for better gapping because adding a lower loft 3W just isn’t giving me a club that’s useful…definitely WTT my 17 for a 19 haha

Looking at his other ebay sales, looks to be an ex Callaway staff player or associate, lots of tour only stuff..

Good point out! .... Doesn't mention if his gear is TC Tour Issue. The 23° UW we know is because it wasn't mass released.

Could you try a shorter shaft length?  Would that concern you with a drop in peak height?

I ordered mine with the Aldila Rogue White 130 MSI (a stock option) and it's more mid launch while still keeping the spin down.
