 The 21 degree UW is money. If you struggle with it in the beginning, make sure to play around with some aftermarket weights. My initial results were ok but not great dispersion wise, but going for the 9g (instead of stock 7g) weight insert made a huge difference for me. I'm playing it with the 11g insert at the moment, which makes me swing it a bit slower but way more controlled.

I play that shaft and similar loft, and it's probably the most versatile club I've had over the years.  Don't hit it every round, but I know it'll be awesome whenever I need it.

220g with NO Weight. 

227g with STOCK 7g Weight.

Finally got out to play a round with the 17* and 21*. I got the 17* over the winter and never had a chance to hit it outside. The 21* came in the mail a couple days ago. 

 

The 17* wasn't as low launch as I was expecting. I hit some nice mid-trajectory draws with it. Was looking for more of a low-fade, but I'll take it because this thing is at absolute rocket when it comes to hitting a 250y bunt fairway finder. I started messing around with that shot and couldn't miss. 

 

The 21* wasn't as mile-high as I was expecting, either, though, which was a good thing. I went 7w/7w on a 510y par 5 and made a 2-putt birdie. The club was very point-and-shootable. Slight draw that started right and came back. Lands very soft. Compared to my 22* driving iron, it's not even close. The DI is being sold.

Yep. Now that warm weather is back, in the winter the 17* was good for 200-210. Now I'm getting 240-250yd bullets. So good, that I'm thinking what's wrong with my driver... since that is about the same...

About to try something a little different with my 21*. The longer and lighter setup really isn’t working for me so I picked up an old UST Elements fire 9f5 and I’m gonna cut it down to 39.5”-40” add a heavier weight and try playing it like a typical hybrid. Part of my complaint is the head feels really upright at address and I can’t get over it. I’m not sure if it’s just this head or what so I may send it back to Callaway and have them check lie/bend flat if possible and then with the short shaft it will hopefully sit more level.

I found a Speeder TS 8.3 with some Taylormade Graphics for my 21*.  I'm liking the combination so far.  Part of me still wants to tinker a bit, but I'm going to leave it and see how it goes over multiple rounds of golf during the next few weeks.

What shafts are you playing, and curious about the distance gap between 17 and 21

17* is about a 250-260y carry + a healthy run out

 

21* is about a 230-240y carry + no run out

 

Hard to get a real good idea at the moment since it's spring in Canada and my range has 10 year old Pinnacle range balls

To preface, this is my favorite club in the bag.

 

I recently swapped out a Trono shaft for the Ventus Red and it's made this club such a weapon. I tried several different shafts and was not able to achieve the ball flight and consistency that I'm getting with the Ventus Red. Thinking about trying it in the three wood now. 

 

Such a great club for anyone that doesn't like hybrids but doesn't want the ballooning effect often seen in five or seven woods.

that doesn’t look like the stock ferrule. Could be a bad reshaft.

A collared ferrule is needed to get the club to seat properly and centered.

Definitely not a stock ferrule. Someone reshafted that one and must have had some bad epoxy.
