P790’s Delayed AGAIN!

Ok I will add that this isn’t just a TM problem but EVERY maunfacturer. We all know about KBS but Callaway told their accounts to no longer use anthing KBS, Projext X and TT Amt series stuff. These 3 shaft option are also impacting Titleist ability to deliver products as well. 
Patience is the key word these days when ordering irons with steel shafts.

Is it the heads or the shafts delaying it? I know from the teacher for my kid told me KBS ( I think that who it was) is very back ordered and some places are not selling them anymore or at least wont till they have stock of them again.

I've experienced the TT problem first hand, and am surprised they are having such issues since they tout themselves as american steel.  The other comapnies need to get their stuff off a boat, so i guess it's just demand that overwhelmed them TT?

TM seems to have limited supply of some shafts just play with the custom shop to see estimated dates. While not perfect they seem to be somewhat in the ballpark and stuff ordered that show shipping within a week appear to be doing so. I have ordered a few with DG shafts and they show arriving within 10 days (P770 is here, awaiting a few P790's to blend)

Estimated ship date says 2/28. 
 

It sounds like these estimates can’t be trusted?

I think it depends on the shaft
Took me 3 months before i got mine with KBS 130 x-flex

Shaft dependent.I got 5-7 P790s from the custom shop inside of 2 weeks, ordered with a DG S300 95 on 1/14. Are the DG shafts showing shipping sooner or also 2/28?

Shaft availability says 2/21, which scares me because we all know KBS is a mess right now.

KBS is having issues with delivery from the factory (Taiwan) is what I've been told.  I did just see my order to KBS Tour Lites get moved closer by 2 weeks, and they were just introduced last week.  Crossing fingers and still have my old clubs

were these the Elevate?  Or new DG 95 VSS?  I don't see the DG S300 95 shaft on the custom list is why I ask.  The DG105 were long for me, with little stopping power (actually almost put them in my 4 and 5 iron)

DG 95 VSS R300, my mistake I should have said R300 not S300. IIRC the only S300's available were in 105  (I happened to get a S300 105 VSS in a P770 with a separate order just to get the club and then reshafted all of them as 105 R300 since that shaft was not available from TM anyway)

MMT's are a decent shaft, but frankly I fit into about 5 different shafts with no variance.  Modify your shaft selection, or go get a different brand of irons.  I know you have trade-in credit, but you can always change to a different brand of iron.

 

Shafts? I can play DG X100, AMT X100, KBS Tour 125 S+, Modus 120 X, and a few others I haven't thought of.

 

Unless you have a TaylorMade tattoo, this delay would have pissed me off enough to change to Mizuno 223/225, Titleist T100, or Callaway X-Forged CB.  Or change to your order to SteelFiber shafts.

 

You're being WAY too accommodating.  All gear is great these days and you likely fit into quite a few other options.

And in my opinion, a FAR better iron than the 790, built on the same technology.

Been waiting for mine since Nov 3.  Multiple delays after being told they were coming by a certain date. Worked with the CS rep multiple times to switch shafts in an effort to get them sooner based on shaft availability but even that has not accelerated things.   Supposedly they are being built now and scheduled for delivery Feb 14th.  I'll believe it when I see them at my front door.  I do see a pending charge to my AMEX which gives me hope that they actually are being built and shipping soon.  Traded in clubs on Nov 3 when I purchased the P790s but have not received the credit until my clubs ship.  Fingers crossed!  For comparison purposes I ordered a custom set of APEX/APEX Pro built to my specs with KBS $Taper shafts and they arrived in a week!

After canceling my original order and buying a set off the BST then reshafting them I thought, hey, why not order the matching gap wedge. Said Feb 5th delivery, not bad. Well, already got the email delaying the one club to February 14th. Here we go.

Really liking mine. Feel great out of the middle, very forgiving on mis-hits and the long irons are surprisingly easy to hit.

Great!  I’m not sure if it’s KBS or  TM heads holding mine up. Cannot wait!  Fore!!  
 

THANKS to this thread also - I checked about trade in process. For those ordering, TM does not need your clubs in advance. They’ll also take anything on trade so empty out your garage!!!!

I placed order for P790 left handed in Sept latest update says late February!!!

My cousin was told his shafts are the holdup on his custom set. He was fitted to KBS MAX MT 85 to help with launch and spin but in a stiff (he liked the feel i guess) Apparently its the same shafts that comes standard in the sim max and new stealth clubs. My speculation is that they are focusing on the new stealth irons to fulfill the orders for the stealth irons then theyll get to his later. 

 

@Soccerrick10 curious - what were your shafts? His irons are delayed till May - at he the earliest is what the shop says.

Mine were the Mitsubishi MMT Regular flex.

 

My order was placed August 8th, 2021.  The last “Your Order is Delayed” email moved my expected delivery to July 2022!  After 9 such emails, I wouldn’t trust any new date given.

 

I should be able to give a full updated status by the weekend.

I know it’s the heads that are delaying these. Ordered mine with Steelfiber FC90 shafts which are in stock everywhere and specified basic grip not installed. Still delayed. TM rep did tell me I can cancel at anytime as long as it hasn’t shipped.
