While watching the Friday coverage, this graphic comes up and made me panic as I'm scheduled to work the USWO in early June, or so I thought!!  Thinking, well there goes my airbnb deposit! Musta been that hs intern taking care of this.😏

I's stunned when I saw this rudimentary mistake presented by the Golf Channel.  The problem isn't the intern who prepared it, but the producer who presented it.

 

I've never been impressed by most TV producers.  They're the most important people in TV broadcasting, they make big money but many of them aren't up to snuff.

When I realized it, I forwarded the pic to the only person in my contacts from NBC Sports who I worked with when I've done spotting/scoring, etc. He's moved on but I think still within NBC. Not sure if he forwarded it but I never saw the graphic again.

This wasn't directed at me but I lived in Las Vegas for 24 years. The Blasberg suicide wasn't huge news other than many articles regarding the older male friend who visited the condo and may have changed the scene. Something like that. Pills. I forget the details.

 

I drove over there to take a look many months later. Very quiet area of Anthem with a little park just up the street from her condo, which was in the center of the block on a street with considerable uphill slant toward the park.

 

Inbee is really terrific. Her husband isn't overly talkative and doesn't initiate conversation, but he'll immediately smile and speak to you if you pick the correct moment and topic. Two years ago in Orlando I followed Inbee for 3 days and met her high school coaches from the Orlando area. I think I mentioned it in the related thread. The wife was battling cancer and the husband very shook up. They were extremely positive and a joy to speak to every day, following Inbee the entire round. They got a kick out of it when I said Inbee almost always wears white pants. Inbee made frequent eye contact with them then took them with her after the round, under the ropes and whisked away together in carts. The couple told me they had followed Inbee to numerous big events over the years and she always treats the that way.

I don't think that's too far off the mark. Seems that most of the talented Korean players make the jump to the professional ranks early, playing on the KLPGA Jump and Dream tours. 31 of the top 100 ranked professionals are Korean. In the amateur rankings, only 8 of the top 100 are Korean. 

 

Youmin Hwang and Shinsil Bang are currently in the top 15. They both played in the Asia-Pacific Championship, but otherwise their starts since 2020 have all been played in Korea.

Don't PXG clubs have a "Sweet Spot the SIZE of Texas"🤣

 

As someone who used PXG this year, they absolutely do NOT have the sweetspot the size of Texas.  For me, they were terrible.

The 0311P is a muscleback. More forgiving than the T model, but as you note it's not a super forgiving club. I switch back and forth between my Ps and i200s, and the perimeter weighted Ping is more forgiving. 

 

Those Proto irons look very perimeter weighted, so I have to believe they're easier to hit than her old Ps.

I'll add that as someone who knows at least a dozen or so people who have been using PXG's for several years, none of them have lowered their handicaps. OTOH, their handicaps are not any higher either 😉

Yes.....Cyborg aka the Penguin was playing a lot of Am events and winning a lot including the 2016 Cdn Am Championship in Nova Scotia.....she beat quite a few now LPGA players....she was a dominant Am.

 

Let's not forget she nearly won the 2017 USWO.

 

Surprisingly, she wasn't playing all that well on the KLPGA the last few years...or at least what many expected from her.

Hye Jin is only 22, and she was KLPGA Player of the Year for 2018, 2019 and 2020; 2021 was her worst year when she finished #6 on Player of the Year ranking.

 

There is a reason 2021 was an off year.  She's planned long time ago to join LPGA last year, but unfortunately the 2020 LPGA Q-School was cancelled.

 

Hye Jin's KLPGA record is better than Jin Young Ko, Hyo Joo Kim, 6ix, Sei Young Kim and every other Korean player we know.

I've been demoing Titleist and Srixon.  I'm probably going to settle on the T300s.
