Tensei Pro Orange 1K Release Date?

Waiting for this also. Hoping they issue a Blue as well. Love the added weight…assuming that’s because it’s counterbalanced so it doesn’t throw off swing weight to bad. When the PW Orange came out there was a lot of noise about it generating the highest balls speeds of anything. Let’s see if this can replicate the same noise.

For sure adds weight, there is a lot of tech in this shaft from what I have seen, it really comes down to the profile and what the designers want to hit and what materials they are going to use and then designing it. They would have a weight range in mind when starting out but thats probably varies +/- 4-5grams before the final design and shaft comes out. Likely why there is such a variance in one manufacturers 60 shaft to the next. Also generally the shaft manufacturers for a tour product like this start by designing the X or TX flexes for the tour guys and then figure out a way to keep the profile and make it softer for the retail releases. This is also why softer flexes come out a few grams lighter. 

 

Che out some of Don's posts from True Temper in the past he talks a lot about it as he was once the head designer for Project X and still helps design shafts.

I hit my friend's G410 with the Tensei Orange Shaft today and compared it to my gamer SIM 2 Max with the "Made For" Tensei Blue Raw 60g shaft.  I can say without a doubt the Tensei Orange felt lighter (though I'm sure his driver was shorter than my driver).  All that being said - I'd definitely consider a PING Driver paired with the 1K Orange shaft next season.  I liked the way his combo felt with loading and unloading during the swing.

I hope so too.  I was getting up to 3 mph more ball speed from the Tensei 1k but my misses went hard left.  Hopefully the Orange 1k will be more stable with the crazy ball speed increase.

60TX.  I will probably have to add some lead tape to the head to get it to feel right.  Hopefully I can take her for a spin on Sunday.  😃

I’m playing an AV Raw Orange in TX.  Can anyone one predict what differences I would see going to the 1K?  Not sure I understand completely the difference between AV Raw and  Pro both in the same color and flex.

Pro Orange is low/low while AV Raw Orange is mid/low.  Both are counterbalanced obviously.  I personally found the AV to not be as stable and spin more than the original TPO.  The materials used as different as well giving it different feel.  TPO almost felt like rebar whereas the AV had a little kick to it at the bottom.
