Club with that special sauce

Everyone has different special sauces that fit their swing the best.

 

Currently mine seem to be:

Cobra F9 7w. 

 

Bump and run 40yrd to 150 yd chips and 210 high bombs in to greens.

 

I hope it never breaks.... 

 

I really want to just take a few balls, tees and that one club to try 9 holes....

 

Only club that won some money for me at a tournament. $100, 100 yard 1 shot challenge. Gave the 7w a little nub nub nudge and landed at about 90 yd and rolled to 99.8 yards.

Tabañero and Franks Red Hot beat this hands down. And it ain't even close.

 

Two clubs with the special feel for me have always been my Cobra F7 Baffler 3 Wood (like Rick Shiels plays) and my '98 Scotty Cameron Teryllium Newport.

Mine is the Stealth+ 3w Rocket Wood. This thing is sooooo freaking good both off the fairway and as a driver replacement from shorter par 4s tee box or approach shots into second shot par 5s. Can’t compare it to SIM Ti’s, since I’ve never bagged one, but it’s a beast and forgiving. My opinion on most impressive club in the bag so far this year.

PXG 0311x 15* Driving Iron - MMT 80 Stiff

 

I've bagged an old Wilson 2 iron as a utility / recovery club for a long time, but I bought the PXG on a whim because I wanted something that I could use in recovery situations and off the tee (and got a good price on it used). It's my first driving / utility iron with the speed-foam (or whatever it's called for PXG), and man, I could just go hit bucket after bucket with this thing. It's a blast to hit. As a general utility club, i've had some really fun recovery shots with it too.

 

It's only coming out of the bag if it breaks, or I find a driving iron that outperforms it.

Nice! I'm hoping to find it this year. I've only hit the new irons so far. Tried the hy wood but I still need woods lessons appearantly. Really hoping for same driver results though 220 to 230 the longest would be realistic and a straight hybrid that doesn't hook like most.

I love seeing all the talk about 7 woods - they are such a versatile club and highly underrated. I have a Nike Ignite T60 7-wood in my bag that has hit some wonderful shots, but is getting pretty long in the tooth at 18 (!!) years old. I'll have to check out some newer models given the rave reviews of the G425 Max!

For me, my “it” club will always be my putter. I do not change putters very often, but whatever I have in the bag at any given time is my favorite club in the bag.

The original Odyssey White Hot no. 6... I constantly tinker with putters (don't ask), but whenever I feel I'm REALLY struggling with my stroke, I go back to the White Hot.  It's as standard as standard can be, original grip and everything.  Something just so simple about it's design is pleasing to my eye and promotes so much confidence at address.

Might be that driver which straightened out your ball flight or was super long, or that wedge that spun the cover off it.

 

Mine is the new Callaway Rogue ST Max LS, coming from Mavrik this thing is amazing! Not sure if it's the shaft, head or the whole package but it's 280 down the middle almost every time.

Magical from 70yds in. High, low, skippers, deep rough around the greens or from the bunkers. Best Lob wedge I've had in a very long time.

 Had an original Hogan Sure Out in the 90's that was almost as good from bunkers and rough around the greens back then, but not so good on the others.

For me regardless of driver head (this is my 5th) this is the special sauce!
