My 400Max cracked open on the crown.  I couldn’t believe it.  Play a Cobra LTDx (2022 model) now.  I plan to replace the 400 Max with the same or a 430 at some point but the Cobra driver has exceeded my expectations.  It does everything well even compared to the 400 Max.

Similar to the above, my 400 Max cracked right down the middle of the crown about a week ago. I went online and tried to find a replacement head, but there was nothing in even decent shape for left handed. So I did a full fitting at my club yesterday, tried all the new drivers (Taylormade QI10, Cobra Darkspeed, Callaway AI Smoke, Titleist TSR, and the new Pings). I quickly narrowed it down to the Titleist and the new Pings, and then again to the Pings. I hit the 430 Max, the 430 10K, and the 430 LST, and at the end of the day the G430 Max was the best for me. To me, it feels very similar to the 400 Max, which I loved and played for probably 3 or 4 years until it cracked. The new one is longer definitely, and seems just as forgiving. I thought I would like the 10K better, but it was very spinny for me for some reason, the plain Max was by far the best. So it is ordered up and should be here in 2 weeks, just in time for the season to start (hopefully!).

Fortunately I don't play often enough (or have a high enough swing speed) to crack the face, and as you can see I'm not a golfer who wants the latest gear either!

That said, I've tried the G410 plus (now in my holiday bag) and the G425 max (swiftly sold on with my ears still ringing) and the trusty G400 max worked a lot better for me than those, both consistency and forgiveness-wise.

Picked up a 430 Max 10k this weekend, getting back today with a Diamana Zf 50tx

we will see how it performs but to date neither the 410, 425 or 430 max could knock out my 400lst or 400max

My uncle had one for 2-3 years and I hit a number of time. Always thought it was kind of meh. Decent driver, pretty darn forgiving, not particularly long. Basically my opinion on every Ping more forgiving model driver for a number of years now.

I played the 410 Plus for awhile when I was struggling with the driver and found it to be a marginally better driver. I hit a 425 Max my dad had for awhile a few times and found it marginally better as well.

Seeing a lot of Pings cracking. Taylor Made got nothing on Pings for failures it appears. Yeah, these threads always get me questioning if the new stuff is really any better.

Agreed! I have been a Ping loyalist for a long time now, and over the past couple of months I have caved in a G400 three wood face, and cracked the crown of my G400 Max driver. And I do not swing all that fast, I take care of my stuff, I don't abuse clubs, but I do hit a lot of balls. Seems like this is happening more and more lately.

Every other attempt I have had to dethrone has proved me to be a fool for even thinking I could get better than the GOAT g400 max. That being said, just picked up a g410 plus with a tour AD IZ in it to have a run at the top spot in my bag.

I cracked a 400 last year, on the face out on the toe. I believe the 400 was released in 2017, and while I'd like it to last forever I think 6-7 years is a good run. Not to mention countless range balls.

Personally, I think it's overrated.  I've had two drivers break, as well as two hybrids.  And I'm not Kyle Berkshire.

All metal woods, including hybrids, will fail, excepting perhaps the old Goldwin aluminum heads with nickel face plates.  It just takes a bit longer with the older clubheads, because they had considerably greater face and wall thickness.

I replaced it with a 430 Max 10K. Straighter and longer.

Just picked up the same driver w/reg flex 55 shaft. I'm getting a nice gentle fade out of it. My G425 driver has the same shaft tip in Sr flex so I will try it out as well.

I have a G400 that I’m still playing and I’ve been know in the past for changing drivers as often as a pair of socks!!
I was lucky enough a couple of years ago to be chosen to test the Tour Edge C721 driver here at GolfWRX but it couldn’t knock out the G400. I have hit a G400 Max for a while but prefer the G400…I’m tempted to try to find a back up G400 head this year…

Well it finally happened…my G400 cracked, unlike everyone else it cracked on the hosel. I’ve been using my brothers G400 Max until I get my new G430.

Well you said not to lie...

The PING G400 MAX (AKA "the GOAT") had been successfully replace by the 430 MAX late last year and was an awesome driver (especially in the ANIMAL STYLE set-up), but its time was short lived as it has now been replaced by the new G.O.A.T. = the PING G430 MAX 10K! The true heir to the throne.
