c tapers gone. PX (🤮) in. No more 8X ventus black in driver or raw wilson wedges. RIP my favorite bag on tour.

I wonder how they're getting a "6.5" actual loft out of a 9* head with a hosel setting at standard.  Maybe did a limited manufacturing run for a lower loft, but didn't bother to change the stamp on the head?

What a great bag Gary has now and those Cobra MBs look really cool, its also kind of nice to see him switch to the same iron shafts that I have played for a while, as has already been mentioned going from Ventus TR Black 8X to TR Blue 7X in his driver is a significant change as the former is possibly the stoutest shaft I have ever hit, it would be nice to see him return to the winners circle very soon.

I play my 3w and 5w at 5w and 7w length respectively. Started by making the 5w shorter and I love it, hit it just as far and high but more consistently.

Makes sense.  If you hitting the sweet spot more consistently you might even gain distance.  

 

I saw same decals on Rickie Fowler WITB.  Thinking it might be a Cobra thing.

Its a Conra truck thing. They have been adding those stickers for a while now. Both heads and shafts. 
Amazing how much lower lofts Cobra teams are compared to other OEM’s.

The stickers indicate the lowest possible loft for that head. Cobra uses 3 degree loft sleeves and the lowest setting is -1.5*. This driver is a digitally lofted 8* head at the standard setting (6.5 + 1.5*). Just the way Cobra does it on the tour truck.

I was here to say this, you beat me to it. A tall guy like Gary playing the woods a lot shorter than standard, and average consumer buying off the rack wonder why they can't hit a 45.5" driver or a 43.5" 3 wood 🙂

Exactly ill sacrifice some mph for consistency with a shorter driver and 3 wood

Not usually a Cobra guy, but I’d game that bag in a second (with lighter longer shafts and more loft in the Driver of course).
