I think you've made up your mind on why he's back, I'll probably wait until he speaks on it.  Managers are also money managers, and by the looks of AK doesn't seem like he struggled with expensive habits during his time off, I think you might underestimate how far the money can go.

There were 54 players x 3 rounds = 162 rounds played total

 

I counted 15 rounds between all the players/rounds that were played with a score of -6 or better

 

AK shot a round of -5 so….

 

Out of 162 rounds only in 15 did someone better his low score

 

In fact, on Sunday, only 4 guys shot a lower round than AK

12 Million PGA Tour, 3 million international, 6 Million from 1 year of Nike. That's 21 million without any other years of Nike money.  I think you're underestimating how much money money makes. People have lived very extravagant entire lives on much less.  Even if he had a bad money guy it's not far fetched to think he lived that time on his own dime, add in a 8 figure insurance policy doesn't seem like money was his most pressing concern or we would have seen a comeback much sooner.

People identify with AK. Not that they necessarily have exact alignment with his ups and downs or persona

He may not have come back for the money, but there's a reason he came back on LIV and avoided a more competitive route back to professional golf.  I don't blame him, and in fact I hope he dominates on the LIV tour.  That would be glorious.

I think LIV gives him the best opportunity to do it on his own terms.  He could have gone the tour route he had the medical option but the hype/clicks etc that he got by signing with LIV would have been 10Xed if he had gone to the tour.  In addition the tours sponsors in order to get their media value out of him would have wanted to parade him around and have him answer a bunch of questions which from this point it seems that he is not interested in. That coupled with the obvious rust on his game could have been a worst case scenario. I don't think it's any coincidence that his first few starts were in places where they could control the media and access to him.

Your comment would actually be relevant if I ever said something like that about TW and any of his results. And no beating two players is not being back. The TW fanboys around here are much worse than the AK fan boys. But the fact you are comparing TW to AK in any regard appears to show a lack of understanding of what you are discussing.

Course I play, as far as they can go is 7068 yards and not setup like these courses are and a +6 HDCP is projected to shot EVEN. When the wind picks up more then normal it is brutal..!   

 

A +2 hdcp is expected to shot even from the white tees which are only 6119 yards..   *Don't ask what tees I play 😂

Looking at his apperance vs years past one could surmise he was "enjoying" life.    Though we all have seen a number of people not age well and it had nothing to do with "heyday" years. 

 

**The money, beside what he made on tour, his insurance policy payout was north of 10mm.  Some said closer to 20mm.  So yes one could easily surmise with winnings, insurance payout and current apperance he was having some fun.

That is becuase Will Z is on playing on the PGAT.   Love Willy Z but LIV is hyping AK as we know and the PGAT is not hyping Will Z. 

 

PGAT pormotes a specific group of players. If you watch the adds they seem to promote "XXX player, world ranking xx and player XXX word ranking XX"  when they advertise events.

 

Which honeslty I would bet is not helping with PGAT players openly stating the OWGR is probably not valid right now.  Adding in it also does not help the same players are saying they think the tour should only be 100 players and that LIV has top 10-top 25 players openly too now. 

 

Golf is completely upside down right now.

It was "thought" that the SSG group was putting money in so the "signature" events and players would be made whole for being loayl. That it would show good faith and draw all the best to play all signature events, yet that is not really happening.   

 

We are hearing the iniital $950m investment that $750m roughly goes to a handfull of players, which based on rumors who they are, it might be players that are not even playing?    

 

We know the PGAT pushed on 3 of the bigger sponsors to get to these  $20m purses and they declined to continue being sponsors.

Considering there are two AK threads with 2x the activity of last weeks Arnold Palmer I say he at least stirs things up a bit. Golfwrx hardcore fan are paying attention with many non-LIV fans watching for the first time, checking the leaderboards, and posting a ton! Good or bad, people are paying attention.
