Dude should stick to a putter or experiment with technique, or something. Constantly on putter carousel and you never see him looking comfortable on greens

Agreed! Every time he changes he seems to end up worse than before. Would love to see him working with someone like Faxon, maybe free him up a little bit!

Thomas seems to have a new custom Cameron every other month.

Don's gonna start screening his calls soon.

This one is an older putter head, installed a the "Dancing Cameron No Cord" grip. He was using a larger Super Stroke before the Masters.

its amazing how bad he is sometimes.  i know we are all "arm chair qb's" here.  but when you can read the speed and line on TV and he even misses its bad.

- Something that continues to go long off the tee in the fairway
- Something that is a fairway finder when needed and long
- Something that high, consistent and helps with par 5’s
-  Something to help with long par3’s and short par 4’s

-  Something metal, lots of them and go the gaps I need
- Something metal, 2x of them and helps me 120y and in
- Putters - limited rotation because I cannot afford misses

He's played the knuckel neck longer than I expected, he seems to always find his way back to the flow neck X5. He flirted with the old NP2 for a minute but seems to keep coming back home. Grip change is interesting, but I also change putter grips every round, it seems...so I can't really talk.

Hopefully he starts rolling it like he used to.

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

I follow JT closely and he hasn't putted well for a while now. Stats confirm that but in play he is missing 2 or 3 really simple par putts per round and not holing as many 10 footers as he used to.

Watch highlights of his 2019 BMW playoff win and you will see he holed almost everything he looked at, it was night and day to what he is now. His iron play was superior then too, he just seems a bit off now all round. He has bulked up a bit compared to 2019, I wonder if that has had some sort of impact.

Great information and very well could be.  We also know from Full Swing he is super mental about his game.  Far more than I would have imagined.  But these guys have to be I guess.

i was thinking the same thing, between the constant neck changes and the brief switch he had earlier this year with the blade he must be looking for something different on the greens

Getting in his own way, some of these guys have so much talent and let their mind get the best of them. He seems always angry, especially on the greens, this season. Hope he turns it around. Ebbs and Flows of the Spieth/Thomas duo I guess 😆

It is noticeable just how much he is gesticulating and point when he misses a putt, almost seems to start doing it before the ball has even gotten near the hole. Surely with Bones on the bag is is not misread putts so badly, which makes me think that it has to be quality of the stroke/strike.

Yeah for sure, and all the putter changes show that he is searching big time. I think the missed putts are having an impact on his approach play, as if he is forcing it knowing he can't rely on holing as many putts as he used to.

If you think about it, last year he did nothing all year and if not for a great final round in the PGA (and a few blow ups from others) he would have been winless. rewind to 2018/19 and it felt like he was contending almost every other week.

I'm that sad where I follow his rounds on shot trackers if I am at work (or no coverage of him). Its always 1 step forwards and 2 steps back over 18 holes. Again its always the occasional missed 4 footer for par that derails a run, and often takes him several holes to get back with a birdie.

Rory was in a similar place and searching, he is by no means a great putter now but he was good enough last year to have a great year, and I truly believe it helped free up the rest of his game.

Contrary to popular belief - putting is by far the hardest part of the game for naturally great iron players.  On the days where they make everything, they can’t tell you why , just that they saw everything going in.  And then felt it at impact.  They’ll know good or bad usually when the ball is hit.  When you get on a bad run , you don’t think you’ll ever feel the good feelings again.

it’s not mechanical and it’s not equipment.  It’s 100. % mental.  But that’s bad news , Ive yet to read or see anyone who has a fix for this syndrome.  Some seem to be born great putters and some seem to be cursed but blessed  to have the need tp hit it closer and to also have the ability to hit it closer.  Because they can’t rely on their putter.  Justin is one of those guys. He’s never putted well for a long stretch.  Just been hot at the right time.  Once.

Agree completely that the poor putting is definitely impacting on the rest of his game. It has become very frustrating watching him at the moment. Hoping that the final round at the RBC will be him getting some good momentum in his game. I did hear a couple of interesting things on NLU that there is word that he a problem with his hip. It hasn't been broadcast too much but would take what those guys have to say on JT as being usually pretty accurate.

I guess you could say he won the first PGA with the other putter though!

I’m glad he’s in the knuckle neck now though. Wish he’d have stayed with the blade a bit longer.

isn't that exactly what most of us do, he is human so why not experiment as he did a nice job the last 2 days with 9 birdies for each day, but what do we know?
