Tiger and Nike golf to separate after PNC? (*** MERGED ***)

The engage wedges were great, as were the VR Pro Blade irons.  But they just had no clue about how to operate in the golf sphere.    They really and truly believed just by showing up they would take it over.  

 

Kind of like the a*hole assistant pros who can barely tolerate having to take your green fee because they shouldn't have to associate with such a bad player, but on a massive scale.

Their pro level gear was awesome. I contend my old Vapor blades were the best irons I've ever hit and damn, I wish I'd have held on to them.

 

Where they screwed the pooch was the non-pro gear. All of that was total junk.

Read a story (IIRC it was from The Daily Mail in the U.K.) that said that TW, Rory, Scheffler, et al may all become clothing free agents since Nike is going to be doing away with what's left of its golf division.

Nike is said to be considering a move to shut down its golf division. Nike stopped making golf equipment in 2016 and has only sold apparel since. 

 

Other brand ambassadors, including Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler and Brook Koepka reportedly could also leave Nike for good. 

 

Nike's closure of its golf division would bring down the curtain on a 40-year stint of making apparel and equipment for the sport.

Charlie has been wearing a lot of Greyson for a few years but also remember that TW is associated with two JT's that make it more likely - good buddies w/ Justin Thomas, who is obviously now Greyson sponsored but is also invested in the company and was always close with Charlie Shaefer going back to the RL days... plus TW is also already business partners with Justin Timberlake on T-Squared Social, who is also a Greyson guy (and I wouldn't be surprised to hear is also invested in Greyson).

Timberlake is involved with Greyson, or at least he was.  I believe he was one of the initial investors back in 2015/16.

Going to a smaller company where he can instead get equity allows his compensation to be a direct result of how much he can help the brand grow over time. Roger Federer did a similar deal when he went to On in 2019 and got 3% of the company

I figured.  Just didn't know that for a fact.

I have noticed that Greyson has been posting a lot of pictures of Charlie over the weekend on their socials.  They even had him next to TW on one of them.  Something must be brewing..
