I always have the one that I know I will use for ever.  Till that ends like it always has before.

currently with a Rossie NSL and wow. I just shot under my age with it the other day.  Five birds and several lips, just putted lights out.

but,

I love the no sight lines most of the time and I have heard a lot of neat things about the Rossie AI face.

thinking that a sharpie to the sight lines for a black on black look will be best for both the worlds my brain lives in.

There is always Better. but as we said when I was a worker bee, better is the enemy of good enough.  dang.

Rosie AI is blue

just got my Newport 2 this week, i live in Canada, took me 1 week to get them at my door.

34' with heavier weight, 40g of weight, i choose to have a heavier weight because i like the heavier feeling when putting, and it might help me with my long putts.

also got my 35g weight mass on amazon with the wrench kit just as a backup.

i am so happy to get my first SC.....

i also tried the Odyssey AI-One milled,  Ping PLD milled, and Bettinardi violet PVD.

i really like the Odyssey AI one, and the Bettinardi blade.

But in the end i went with the SC, i feel like it might hold the most sell value a few years down the road, and i just like the look of it, especially the silver dots.

Just tried out an Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K Triple Wide today and really liked it. My rotation this year until I get confidence with one of them will be…

-the above Triple Wide

-Edel EAS 1.0

-Artisan 0120

Currently on the bench but not cut from the team…

-Ping PLD Custom Kushin (that I’ll take with me to my upcoming PLD fitting to see if it makes sense to modify it based on in-person data)

-TM Spider EX

How was the PLD in-person fitting?

I really enjoyed it. I liked it better than the virtual fitting. The virtual was pretty good, but it can only go so far unless you really have a handle on your own preferences.

During the fitting, the tempo metric on iPing led Alex to believe that a lighter weight head would fit me best. After trying several different setups, it became clear very quickly that a heavier head weight is better for me.

I have a tendency to not release the putter. I hold it off for some reason. I have that same problem with full swing clubs too, but that belongs in the Instruction forum lol. Getting a heavier weight really helped me get more consistent with both shaft lean and getting back to square at impact.

We definitely wouldn’t have gotten to that conclusion without me being able to put several putters in my hands.

I had the original Jason Day Red Spider, thought it was the last putter I'd ever own, but long winters with no golf make me keep trying new things - this winter I randomly found, on Amazon of all places, that same putter with no alignment line (could never find it without it since getting rid of my original) - and I once again feel like I'll never own another putter again. I've always like the pure roll insert in the TMs, and get too fixated on the line on the putter when it's there. If you gave me the option for any putter for free, I don't have one in my head - the same way I felt when I originally got the red Spider.

I prefer the DJ black color, but the black insert on the JD version is less distracting than the white on the DJ version.

Spider Tour: TaylorMade releases Jason Day, Dustin Johnson putters ...

I just built this counter balanced Maltby PTM-4 to 36” w/ the Maltby pure-track SS stability shaft & 14” superstroke 2.0 XL grip. I’ve had them all (labs, armlocks, etc.) & I cannot say enough good things about the feel of this combo. I stripped the paint fill for a more muted look.

Some say the heft doesn’t vibe with them, but for me it’s exactly what I was going for. it’s super stable & slows down my stroke. I didn’t have to add any lead tape to the head since it already comes in on the heavy side @ 375g. For around $175 I doubt you could find anything better.

Speaking of full circle, I went counter balanced putters for the last four years with decent success, but recently got the itch to go back to a center shafted putter that I previously played for ten years. Unfortunately I sold my ole faithful (TM Itsy Bitsy Tour Black CS), so I had to get the next best thing in a more modern version (TM Spider X CS Chalk).

Gonna give it a go this year along with a custom My Spider Tour X CS I have on order. If this experiment fails I can always go back to my counter balanced putters.

PXL_20240213_032845247.MP.jpg

So far so good with the TM Spider X CS Chalk but my TM Spider Tour X CS just showed up yesterday. Can't wait to get her out this weekend. One of these two spiders will be my gamer for the year.

i just can’t seem to get my Garage Portland out of the bag, year 4/5 I think.

The gamer got an upgrade last week, with a BGT shaft and opted for the Garsen Tour Pistol TPE. Tried giving the PP58 Mid Cord a good go but just needed something a bit thicker for my hands and my hands settle much quicker and comfortably with this grip.

Now just need to courses to open up.

I was dead set on a spider tour x3 due to my past success with a spider x. Went into 2nd swing to do a fitting and spec check and adjust old faithful and ended up in an Odyssey AI ONE Rossie S. Currently using an Evnroll mid mallet until the dormant bermuda starts to wake up but I have a feeling the M Craft 1 will make it's way back in the bag over the next few weeks. There's so much inconsistency in the pace of greens right now due to drainage, grain etc that I've been focusing on the line a little more as of late.
