Is the dress code for women golfers more lax then men?

This isn’t a real question.  Womens attire has been more lax since 1960.  Ever go shopping with your girl ?  They can buy a pair of jeans and a shirt for $30.  A pair of Levi’s and a shirt for me is $80-100. This highlights  larger supply of choices they have to different events. In my opinion.  Women golfers can wear anything and be considered “ ok”.

I dont know where your girl goes shopping but I assure you nobody is leaving Tori Burch, Kate Spade, Lilly, or any other store my wife frequents without spending $500.

Uh-oh - you saying that Kate Spade on sale deeply discounted bargain purse the wife picked up while on a mother-daughter trip to Broadway a couple years back wasn't the bargain she claims? Haha, I do think she got out for less than $500 --- more so than men, and I'm confident in this gender based statement, women seem to sniff out the sales, IMO (and to the point above, I think they have way more options than we do).

🤣. I’m talking about normal people. Kohl’s . Belk.  Etc.  They see yall coming.  I’ve been dragged shopping for 25-6 years now. It’s always amazed me how much cheaper her clothes and shoes are than mine.

Wrong. It’s to keep decorum.  Which is a form of control. But it’s necessary control. Much like speed limits.

Agree, no PRO golfers wearing cargo, on camera. 

 

However, given the odd clothes being worn by some on camera, and what guys wear on the LIV tour, we're likey to soon see on the PGA, what I view as an unthinkable tour under the name of PGA.

What do you think guys on LIV are wearing, pajamas and mesh tank tops?  

 

This is DJ on Sunday at Las Vegas.  Juaquin and Sergio at Mayakoba. Bryson when he shot 58 last year (it was raining pretty good by the end of the round.)  Run of the mill collared polo shirts, tucked into to either traditional golf pants, or (heaven for bid) nicely tailored/fitting golf shorts, with belts.  And a variety of traditional golf shoes.

Shorts and some of what I saw was different than you chose to post.  Anyway, I have no interest in country club golf on TV or watching those people.  I will leave it there.

Back on the topic, I the dress code for women is more lax than it is for men. But on the other side of the coin, IMO it's much easier to dress for golf as a man than it is as a woman because of it. The less explicit a dress code is, the more it becomes an unspoken dress code that you need to learn how to navigate.

So wait, if women don’t shop at the likes of Kohl’s n Belk they aren’t “normal”?! My GFs wardrobe is 98.9% from Lululemon n Athleta. Is she normal or abnormal? (I’m making a graph. Thanks 😊)

Synonyms.  You can chart it by the median income.  Info is readily available.   Folks in the actual  middle class don’t shop at either of those stores more than once in a blue moon as a treat.  I’m not judging. I’m simply stating fact.  You do you. But If you’re buying $150-200 LuLu leggings on the regular , You’re not “ average , normal , middle class “ etc.

Okay got it! I will happily be reporting to my GF that she isn’t “normal” when I see her later! (I can already feel the bruise on my shoulder 🤣) She already knows (and I agree) that I’m far from normal, and I wear it w/a badge of honor 😊 I prefer to say I am “above average” 😁

Hey. And that’s fine.  The poster I replied to lives at or on bay hill. Obviously not average.  Context is everything.  I understand that things are expensive .  In his case. My wife owns Kate spade stuff. Coach , LV etc. the difference is - she shops at the outlets and bought last years or before for 1/4 the price. His is paying full retail to have this years yesterday.  And I’m not judging. But the context must be explained so that my point is clear.

I won't get into wealth, just say among our 10 closest like - lifestyle friends, none of our wives shop at the high-end trendy Newport Beach, or BH stores yet always look good.  Us guys dress well too, but joke we're pretty darn lucky.  Clothing bills could be huge.

Exceptions on both ends occur I’m sure.  People go into debt trying to be trendy.  And people of means shop at Kohl’s and belk level stores. I’m not poor. Just am prone to not being liquid.  I’ll spend $20k on a piece of equipment or parcel of land in a second. But on clothes ?  I have a Work jacket right now that I love , that I bought at dicks sporting goods in 2003. And I wea it most days in the winter. I just tend to take care of things and make them last.  
 

As per  usual. I’m not even sure how we got down this rabbit hole. I’ll have to go back and re-read 🤣

LV neither has an outlet nor puts things on sale...

 

I bought my wife an LV wallet for Christmas to go with the purse I bought her a couple of years ago, and I actually got the salesman with that... It was about a week or two after Thanksgiving and as he was ringing it up I said "I can't believe I waited and missed out on the Black Friday sales!"

 

Took him a second as I watched his face try to figure out how to tactfully correct me until he realized that I was joking.
