I just trust the G30. The M2 was long, really long, but I just didn't have enough time to dial it in with my busy tournament schedule. I trust where the G30 is going to go, where I found the M2 to miss both ways more.

It figured it might be time for an update!

I have been pretty busy at the office and even went and got married. The wife has been really supportive of my passion for the game, and she even tagged along for an event to "caddie."

I've been playing some solid golf this summer. I recently fired two 70s in tournaments and then a career best 68 from the tips at my club.

I just need to get a little more consistent and avoid the blowup holes: learn to grind out those double-bogeys into bogeys and 78s into 75s.

During the Kansas Amateur, I was in the Top 10 at the turn only to slowly bleed stroke upon stroke over the back nine to miss the match play cut by 2. It was certainly a learning experience. I didn't have my best stuff at all (including a phantom lost ball), and I still was right there with some of the best players in the state.

I have two more big events on the calendar: High Plains Amateur (this weekend) and Kansas Mid-Amateur (October).

Have you kept in contact with GG since your visit? If so, what are you working on? Given all the GG posts, it would be good to hear from someone who's made a long-term commitment (like Heath and Kuchhh)

I have kept in touch with George regularly through text and occasional calls. He is very gracious with his time, much like iTeach. If he sees that you are dedicated and putting in the time/effort, he seems happy to follow up.

A few weeks ago I sent him video hitting irons. He noticed the left shoulder not coming back towards the camera like I mentioned in the GG thread. "A lot of players don't clear that left shoulder and it makes face control difficult."

Yesterday, I followed up with a video hitting driver on the range at my club (my latest post on Instagram). "Rt elbow is getting a little to deep towards naval at p6 keep it on rt side of body as you rotate to impact then it can extend besides that looks great."

T14 at the High Plains Amateur this weekend. I made the 5.5 hour drive with two goals in mind: get revenge for the Kansas Amateur hosted at the same course and collect Player of the Year points. I accomplished both.

Kansas Amateur (T78)

High Plains Amateur (T14)

Those are the big multi-day championships.

I've also played in 4 one-day Mid-Am Series events across the state and won 3.

I wanted to like the M2 + AD DI, but I don't think I had enough time to get comfortable with it. I probably should have tipped it a touch, but I found a two-way miss with it and couldn't find the right face angle to minimize it. I would put what felt like a good swing on it and look up to be dumbfounded to see it going opposite direction than I thought. I am just so comfortable with the G30 at this point, it was going to be hard to knock out of the bag during the middle of the competitive season. I have pretty much played in some sort of competitive event every other week since the beginning of May, and I just didn't have the time to tweak it to feel right on the course. It was considerably longer than my G30 good-for-good, I would say +9-12 yards. I sold her on the BST.
