Surprised he's rolling with a somewhat "stock" HZRDOUS Smoke in his driver. He's one of the best drivers of the golf ball, and you would think he would want something with a little lower launch and a bit less spin. Love Hovland's swing!

Does tour v come in a 120-X? I thought X was usually 130 weight?
I thought he had gone iBlade in long irons, i201 short irons - then to iBlade throughout the bag. While counter intuitive, thought I read he liked the launch window that split provided.
Not what I am seeing, however.
Looks like thats the Hzrdus Black shaft. Much lower spin then the Smoke from my testing

Ah, good point! Missed that!
Love the Hzdrus Black Shaft in the Driver. Low spin beast
Same I have it in driver fairway and hybrid
Pretty sure that the 120X is the original retail offering. Tour V 130X used to be tour only at some point. Not sure how the situation is currently.
good to see a Cally X Forged UT in the bag
Viktor is solid. Great set up. Those irons are super underrated it seems.
They’re pretty perfect unless you have to have a blade.
Looks like he got custom grinding on all his wedges... would be interested to know why. Might have wanted a little bit less bounce or a bit more relief around the heel?
Thanks a ton Greg!
been waiting on these
Fantastic putter - PLD Piper head with a raw finish.
I wonder if Ping will spring a surprise and release some of these tour issue models to the general public...?
And the putter is just unreal
The PING site claims his 50 degree has the half-moon grind and the 60 degree (and maybe 56?) has the wide half-moon/extra heel/rolled leading edge grinds. Would love to hear him and the PING tour fitting staff discuss the process for selecting all the grinds, would be quite enlightening.
Came to see what replaced the TM putter and was not disappointed! Very nice.
there are a lot of versions of this, but this is a Ping Mullen 2
That putter is freakin' sick.
that putter is dope (aside from the top flange alignment line)

My god that driver cover.
Good stuff Greg, as always.
He bounced back and forth a couple times after turning pro. Iblades through the bag, 210 through the bag, 210 short/iblade long, iblade short/210 long. I also clicked here to see which set up he ended up with.
Tour V X is 120 but then there are Tour Models that are Stiffer and heavier one is a 125g thats marked S+ (Stiffer than the retail 120X) and then there is a 130g X that is rebar, think close to X7
Loving the Ping driver cover. Looks fantastic. I'd love me one of those.
Interesting the one callaway club, must be a keeper!
Love how he still has that Callaway X Forged UT in the bag. That driving iron is awesome.
i haven't heard a lot of good things about the X-Forged UT
I can answer this as I spoke with KBS, directly about it.... it's confusing....
The 120 X is the "lightweight X model"..... the 130 X is the Tour Spec X model.... From softest to stiffest it actually goes like this
Tour V 120 X
Tour V 125 S+ (tour spec) - originally designed for Phil who still uses it
Tour V 130 X (tour spec)
It's weird for sure..... the way it was explain to me is that they designed the Tour V before they started using the naming of "lite" as they do now - C Taper and C Taper Lite.... $ Taper and $ Taper Lite..... if the Tour V was designed now, it would be Tour V and Tour V lite....but, they hadn't started that yet....
I play the 120 X (like Victor) and tried the 125 S+ (Tour Spec). The 125 is SIGNIFICANTLY stiffer and I was warned as much.... ended up going back to 120X which is perfect for me....
On tour, this is what I know of....
Phil - 125 S+ (Tour Spec)
Hovland - 120 X
Eric van Rooyen - 120 X
Eddie Pepperell - 120 X (I think....)
I usually don't pipe up unless I truly know the ins and outs of this stuff. But, I went deep into the rabbit hole with KBS teamers so I thought I'd explain!
