I just picked this up for a good deal, I’m no expert when I comes to these. Does everything look right guys?

Searching this website for info is much better than google. I googled and didn’t see any fake 009. Should have looked on wrx. My mistake, not a costly one though.

I already did: everything. Head composition, finish, milling, shape, stamping, style, paintfill, price........

That’s a much better fake then some I’ve seen but yes, it’s definitely fake. 100%.

 

Why some people spend (what I really really hope wasn’t) thousands on a putter and THEN ask about its authenticity blows my mind.

Wow, the counterfeits are getting better. But yeah, so many things are wrong. For example, the letters are not straight, it is like “dancing”.

Yeah fakes are getting better IMO. Makes it tough for those who don’t know what they’re looking for.

 

A “good deal” should be a red flag right away. The Cameron tour putter market is a pretty established market. There’s enough movement of high dollar putters to have the value of something pretty easy to figure out. Heck, even if you only looked at completed eBay auctions you can figure out something’s value pretty closely.

 

No need for a seller to offer a big discount. Unless you know the seller then my first thought to a “good deal” is going to be to tread lightly

It may be fake...but 99% of people with think it's real. This one in particular looks pretty good in general.

Fortunately for you, these 009s have zero actual tech, so this will perform more or less the same as an original.

I may be the only one to say it, but I think yours looks better than the authentic one. It looks cleaner to me. All in all, it's still a milled putter that caught your eye. Game it and play lights out with it. Just don't be a jerk down the road and try to sell it as a Cameron. Still a very nice looking putter

For those who know what an authentic 009 putter looks like this one looks nothing like it. I think the 009 has beautiful lines and is a terrific ode to the Scottsdale Anser. This fake 009 has abrupt lines, lack of flow, and has a forced look to me. Also, being that it is definitely a counterfeit I would never keep it. To each their own but I refuse to own counterfeit anything.

 

I once owned a terrific Rolex Submariner replica that had an authentic bezel and pearl but parted with it because I couldn't own counterfeit. I swore if I was going to wear Rolex then it would be authentic or not at all.

This is not true, the hand stamped putter like a 009 and Timeless don't have straight lettering.

 

Why this is obviously fake to me are two things: 1. the cavity shape is wrong, a 009 does not have an oval/rounded square cavity. 2. The milling pattern is not anything that has been used on a 009.

 

There are other more subtle differences as well like the neck is not uniform, but round in spots and the finish looks like a black plating which hasn't been seen on a carbon 009M yet.

Even though it's a fake can you tell if it's carbon or stainless?

Also another telling sign is the jackpot Johnny's eyes are different than the real ones.

Couple of things here, ALWAYS buy from a reputable collector/Ebay user or secondary market store. Another call out that hasn't been mentioned, I don't think I've ever seen a length sticker on a circle T putter.

If it's a good enough deal to where you're not bothered by losing the money on a fake putter, you should have likely known it was fake based on the asking price.

This would be pushing $1,500 if authentic...IMO the design is pretty cheeky, designer may have a future in putter design!
