A buddy sent me this vid last week. Took the concept to the course a few days later, and the results were remarkable. Same concept and great results from the sand, too. Just goes to show how out of sync I've been, how I haven't been keeping my chest moving through shots, etc.

I, too, have a new appreciation for Kisner after seeing his attitude in this vid.

Tried this in the backyard and had some good results. I definitely tend to get out of synch and the thought of moving the shaft in line with my zipper helped quite a bit.

Also good to see a bit of Kiz’s personality coming through. He seems like a down-to-earth guy with a good sense of humor. On the course during a tournament he seems pretty intense.

I practice trail-hand only chips the way he does and they are so good for your game. Really exposes any flaws with your chipping and teaches you how to brush the ground just behind the ball to use the bounce. It's a great practice swing off the green, too.

Great video. I was a very good chipper/pitcher of the ball when I was young, but somehow lost it over the years. 5-6 years ago I literally had the chipping yips, skulls, chunks, I was so bad that I got to where I was putting from off the green as much as I could or chipping with a hybrid and running the ball on the green. I had become an all hands and arms chipper, it was a disaster.

I have slowly gotten back to being a decent chipper, and this is the number one thing I have worked on, keeping the grip pointed at the chest, and keeping my right elbow underneath and close to my body...... exactly what he is teaching here...

I saw this before and enjoyed it very much as I've struggled with the skulls and digging the leading edge of the club in behind the ball

I used to have a short game that was the envy of many of my playing partners I'd get up and down from anywhere and then one year I didn't

practice and I ended up loosing my touch but it is slowly coming back , another good teacher is Justin Rose he explains things very well and would make

a great teacher , I also watched the English guy on the golf channel and he showed Jordan Spieth chipping and his practice swings are back and fourth finding

the bounce in his wedges it's a very good tip and one I now use .

I was at the range yesterday, and the assistant pro was helping a guy with a few things, and at the end they got to chipping and pitching, and he basically was trying to explain this to the guy, with some of Monte's stuff. When the pro left, I just started chatting to him about the chipping part, and he seemed to understand what I was saying better than how the pro tried to explain it. I even told him to start with Monte's simple drill to start with just tossing the ball with your right hand to get the feel of the motion, then move to just brushing the club along the ground feeling the bounce, then slowing move to bigger swings, taking the one arm swing. He actually seem to get it after a few minutes. I'm not short game master, I used to be good when I was a kid, but literally had the chipping yips 5-6 years ago.

I have to work at it, but if I do the things mentioned here and practice, I get back to being a passable short game player
