Had a SAM session, needed face balanced instead of toe flow. Was gonna order an Envroll, Bettinardi or Toulon to my specs, but had trouble finding new face balanced putters in the retail stores nearby. Most of the putters I was looking at, custom built to my specs would cost $400 to $600, with some sort of delay (one was up to 5 weeks). So I decided to buy a few pre owned putters and get them adjusted to my specs, as I like to have a few options...

 

I got great deals on these from the classifieds here and have been rolling them in the living room this week.

 

The Golo reminds me of the B60 I gamed many years ago. It feels great, rolls it great, typical Scotty vibe

 

The Sub70 is a total surprise, its a weapon. I love the looks, almost total blackout, very uncluttered and clean. The feel is really nice too, the ball rolls pretty clean off the face, nice firm "click" at impact. The weight kit, wrench, pouch and ball marker are a nice touch too.

 

However, its got a new Gravity Grip on it, and that backweighted feel is totally foreign to me.The putter feels heavy, like one of those weighted "swing trainers", almost unwieldy. I don't get a good sense of where the head is, even though I added 2x20gm weights. I'm trying to get a feel for it, but might just yank it...

I like heavier heads, played 375gms and above the past few seasons, but this thing feels like a sledge hammer! 

 

I thought the backweight was because of the Gravity Grip, is it in the top of the shaft too? I didn't really look into it..

2.  I pre-ordered a Stealth Driver and 3 wood which arrived a week or two after the official release date.  Nothing exotic, standard stock shafts with midsize grips but it still came after I could have purchased directly from a retail store and had them sooner.  Not the end of the world but irritating.

3. January 22- ordered a custom Stealth 7 wood with Ventus Velocore 7 Stiff shaft, +1/2 inch, midsize grip.  Every Friday without fail I receive an email telling me the order is pushed back another week.  Latest update is March 29th.  Yet when I go on to the website today and enter the same order and specs I am told I can have it a week sooner.   I will cancel the order on Monday and reorder from Callaway and most likely have it in a week.

 

I have sold the irons, driver and 3 wood and will be cancelling my 7 wood on Monday.  I have a connection at Callaway and in fact got a custom set of Apex 21 Combo irons in one week built to my specs.  So TM, thanks for the memories!  Wishing you continued success and hoping you get your act together one of these days.
