What putter did you just buy ?

Looks really nice!! Looks like the same seller has another LH up for the same price. No good condition righties at the moment but there are definitely good deals to be had on Teardrop putters on the bay. I got in 9 holes with mine and it's an excellent weight for me.  I would also guess my model is around 340g but I imagine the cast putters might be a little lighter.

Bought this a while back but finally decided to make it mine and put it in play. 34.5 is a little long so instead of cutting it i put a Superstroke wristlock. That made it a little light so going to try something different.

Great putter I have a SS version I have had since new some 25 years now. Was my frontline putter for 20 years. Won  many a dollar with it in Big Money Calcuttas and on the Minis. It is retired now. I also have a version like yours I found at the old Honey Hole the scrapyard with a broken shaft. I replaced it with a fluted Bulls Eye Shaft of course. Have played it a few times in vintage play and like it. But for me the last 5 years nothing has bumped the rusty Santa Fe from the bag

I just bought a slightly rusty Bettinardi Studio Stock #3 for dirt cheap (post it up 2weeks ago).  in great shape, still has the $540cnd on it.  wasnt sure if I wanted to remove the rust and oil it, but the more i see it, the more the rust is starting to grow on me!

Obviously not a new putter, but new to me. I've always thought this is one of the coolest of Ping's BeCu putters (with the B60 being probably the coolest, but I couldn't putt worth a damn with that). Couple of rounds in with this and liking it so far. I've already rolled in a couple of 20-footers; I normally make about one of those a year!

Yep- have a nicely aged one of those myself, with a bit of lead tape on sole- currently using a customized Redwood Zing. The old faithful BeCu has made so many miles of putts over years, will always be in my stash and doesn’t tend to stay out of starting lineup for long.

100% agree!  Need to take some weight off (and make the putter head lighter...amirite) as it's a HEFTY 412g right now. Anyone have any recommendations or suggestions? I'm planning to either port it and fill with something or just grind out part of the center/bottom to get to 365-370g.

I hated the ‘Murica stripes on the original release of the CC so much that I refused to even try it. Saw someone selling this custom shop fix and had it give it a try. It has a pretty great feel to it.

I think you're on the right path, removing material from the bottom in ported fashion will probably get you there quickest.

Having a gamer in the bag does not make anyone exempt from the temptation of buying more putters. We all experiment, colllect, buy and sell putters

Just to be honest I have a lot of putters mostly saves from the scrapyard. I have 2 which are sentimental and have been gamed in the past but are not in the rotation. I have about 20 Ironmasters none of them alike. None of them in the serious rotation. Now some of them with the bunch of Spalding TP Mills will see rotation in the vintage bag along with various Bulls Eyes. But then again the Mills collection may be going I have 2 buyers interested.

Now the Scotty in my signature has been in the bag for 5 years now do not see it coming out of the rotation anytime soon. The SS Zing2 was in the bag for close to 20 years and like Mitchell stated It has rolled in miles of putts and for me won a lot of money including 2 big Calcuttas and has made me money on the Minis. The only other one seriously considered in the rotation is an old Cleveland Designed by 8802 style I have had darn near 20 years. When I get in a slump I can putt decent with it and get my feel back.

In all honesty I am thinning the herd down some because I have gotten out of control. Like I said I have several people interested in part or all of my TP Mills stuff about 10 putters. I would sell most of my Ironmasters except one that has special sentimental value and I have owned darn near 50 years. The other one is a green composite shafted leather gripped reproduction Ironmaster

I've had one that i rescued from the lost and found barrel about 5 years ago.  Cost me a new pingman grip and I was in business.  I haven't used it in a while, but I was rolling mine this afternoon and it was just what the doctor ordered in promoting a proper release of the clubhead.  I suspect that it will get some serious bag time early in the season.

My problem is LOFT -- Lack of friggin' talent

That's a bargain. I was happy to get mine for about $50 including shipping.

It started as an experiment with $80 worth of parts. I love rusty irons and rat rod style, but for my putter I need a clean look. And I certainly don't mean to dunk on the guy's welding skills. What can be seen on those pics is the best part of the welds. The interior of the hosel has some inclusions and gaps in the lapping. I don't think the guy had ever seen a putter before though - and I told him this is a frankenstein so it just needs to hold together. Price was 6-7x less than a couple of the boutique guys on here, so was willing to make concessions on an experiment.

Heat from the welding bubbled up the epoxy under the insert and is effectively a bit open at address - so will pull the insert, take a bit of weight out of the back of it, then re-epoxy after refinishing. But damn it if it isn't rolling real nice on the putting mat. Need the snow to go away ASAP!!!

It is funny aint it but sometimes the Frankenstein beat up raggety stuff works best. And you also know exactly what you want weight wise by the insert adjustment.

I've tried that before and found it created more side spin on the ball.  Hopefully your results are better.

I thought the feel of the originals was better, too.  Didn't think the t22's and champions choice should have had milling but they do because the mass thinks softer is better apparently.  The originals were a carbon head, which is a softer metal than the stainless used on the t22's and CC.  The thickness of the copper inserts could be different as well.

I went to the local golf super store wanting to roll the new Tm Spider Gt line . Didn't get on with them at all .

So I picked up a few different models to roll nothing struck me . I am a mallet guy seen the Odyssey double wide OG hot hot in the corner .. ahh I will try it .

The thing is automatic so I put it down went to several different models . went back to the double wide just prefect for me .  It's blade like but this model was a double bend and face balanced like most mallets I have played in the past. Anyway it is perfect for my stroke , feels and rolls the ball great.
