Just ordered a box of the MTB-X to try while out in PHX. Classy touch with the lil note, Dean. That type of thing goes a long way.

Honestly, his participation here makes me think I should be playing the mtb x exclusively... I like to support people who are passionate about what they do.

I think I’m done trying balls and am going to go exclusive.

Dean, will you go to the prom with me?

Hey Dean, thanks for the great work on the golf balls. Have made the switch to the MTB-X like many have and was wondering if Snell gloves will someday be offered? Would love to rep you guys with a glove.

I didn't know about Dean signing the packing slips until I got my order last week. Quite a nice touch. So impressed with the X. I swear it performs slightly better for me than the Pro V1x. Just flies so high and straight with great stopping power on the irons. Previously my thinking was, "performance equal to the Pro V1x at a much lower price," but now I'm thinking the MTB-X performance is actually a little better.

Thanks goes to you for producing amazing golf balls at such reasonable prices. I have been bombing the Snell MTB Black the last few weeks. I have been hitting the longest drives ever and I am 55 now. This past Monday I had two eagles in one round. I drove it to 3 foot on a 304-yd par 4. It is LONG off the tee!!!!! Again, thank you Dean.

Just wanted to leave my $0.02 ... Black yellow user past 3 rounds ... Played Chromesoft & TP5 for past year ... I find largest difference in iron carry ... Woods are slightly longer (depending on user) but irons are easy full club longer

Love Snell ... need a decent hat design Mr Snell ???

This thread is the reason I ordered the Snell ball. The interaction and level of passion for his product that Dean shows on here made me feel the same way. Very impressive.

To top it off, the X ball is fantastic. Couldn’t be happier.

I've been a MTB/Black user since Snell made their GolfWRX debut. I purchased a text pack of the Black/X in yellow when they were released. After playing both balls extensively, I found the new X to perform better than the previous version, which spun way too much for me off the driver. The new X was definitely longer and straighter and seemed to be a little softer. Great ball for its target player, in my opinion. I think the Black is still best for my game.

One thing I noticed while testing was the yellow finish didn't seem very durable. I experienced several instances where small nicks in the cover came off, revealing the white underneath. A couple of times this occurred with a brand new ball after one driver that landed in the fairway. Anyone else experience this? I would love to chalk it up to an anomaly, but it happened with several balls within the test pack, both Black and X.

You aren't alone. I noticed this as well. I put a brand new ball in play this week. First ball had about 9 holes on it and I noticed one quarter sized spot on the ball that was lighter shade of yellow. As if it was fading. Didn't effect the performance.

Had played Snell balls in the past, but had not found them to make a difference for me. I usually don't have the discipline to stick with one ball. I'm older and a slower swinger than most of the WRXers, and I've played around with a bunch of softer balls. Took lessons over the winter, got some new clubs after a miserable year last year. Started with multiple balls in the bag this year to try to finish off the trifecta. The MTB Xs have played their way to the top with consistently good results (note: I can hit bad shots with any ball) and they are there for awhile. I plan to employ a radical, new concept for a good chunk of time, see what happens---use one ball, make no club changes.

Putting has generally been good with them. Play well in the wind. Have had a few great par 5s, with good drives followed by even better 3 woods getting me close to greens I can't normally get to---long and straight shots are happening more often. So this 13-14 handicapper from just outside Boston (with a summer place not far from where these balls come from) is very happy to have these in my bag.

As a ball-ho, I have to say this.

I have tons of trade-in credits at rbg and local rogerdunn. I buy most stuffs that's on 50% off sale.

BUT, I have withstood the ongoing srixon B1G1 storm because I have set MTB-x as my only gamer this season.

Man, it's tough holding back with all the ADs and posts here, but I have been strong so far.

Hope MTB-X can be purchased at rbg soon. :)

MTB-X is an outstanding ball, it's as long as the XV 5 and the TP-5X that I regularly played. There is no much difference between all 3 balls, suits my game to a tea. No issues with durability with the MTB-X and I've knocked some trees hard on some holes but no cart path yet.

However, with the Srixon BOGO, I am onto the XV 6 balls, Great ball though... & if Snell has some sale, I'll be into that as well.

I can confirm the problem with the yellow cover. I tested X in white and really liked it. So thought I would try the yellow, as I am finding them a little easier to follow in the air. I wasn't 3 holes in before I had some of the yellow coming off to show the white underneath. No cart path or tree hits, just normal play. I also play V1x in yellow, and have never had any issues with them.

Finally saw a MTBx yellow today and it looked good. Didn’t get to play it, my dad did. He isn’t all in to golf. Loves to play but it all feels the same to him. Will still probably give them a go once the ProV1x are done. But have 3 dozen of those (2 yellow) and 1 left of Ksig4

Hi everyone!

Going to place my 3rd order for the 5 box deal and need some assistance on picking out a ball... My first 10 boxes were the MTB Black which I have LOVED. The feel is second to none. However, with the MTB-X being introduced I've wondered if some extra spin around the greens and on approaches would be worth the lower compression? I played the old style Pro V1x for years and years so I'm no stranger to a slightly higher compression ball... FWIW with spin rate with a full 7 iron is 6800-7200 RPM with 168 carry....

You think I should stick to the Black? Or give the X a go?

The MTB-X feels perfect imo. I've been playing the XVs and its softer yet still has a firm feel. Night and day 100 yards and in, including putting. I would definitely try a test box b4 buying that many doz, though...just my .02

Played the MTB-X for the first time on a windy day. Had a few drives into it that absolutely SKYROCKETED, ballooning higher than I've ever seen and dropped 50 yards short.

It was super windy and gusting so im not really worried about it, but that was the problem with the old reds right? Something I will need to keep an eye on, but I've been very happy otherwise.

Haven't had any skyrocket or float on me. Ball is superb off the irons and wedges. Long and consistent off the driver. It really shines 100 and in with the flighted wedges. And love the feel off the putter.
