Not only did he shoot 85, he looked like an 85 shooter while doing it. He would have fit right in at my home course on a Saturday morning.

Come on, let's not get carried away lol, he is still a trillion times better than your normal Saturday morning group at your home course.

Paralysis by over analysis. I would also guess something may have happened in his personal life. IMO, he also has the driver yips. A year off might do him some good. Tough to watch one of the best player's ever hit the ball this poorly.
Yips gets overused way too much around here. It's not the yips, it's technique.

My golf coach told me. When I'm struggling bad with driver. Double miss to step down to 3wd. 4 iron. Whatever it takes to find fairway. Seems he needs this approach....
Nice advice Yellow!

Welcome to the board :)

Have a great season & I hope that ya don't have to go to your 3M or 4i often :)

Tiger will win the U.S. Open.

Chambers Bay may chew him up. Tiger's short game issues started re-appearing a little this week. Chambers Bay's greens complexes may really shake his confidence, and he likely won't feel comfortable on the greens. Not expecting much from Tiger.

Anyone know what he did to his finger? In the post round presser today he mentioned not being able to hit balls after the 3rd round because of his finger. Also mentioned he was going to take a few days off and only putt to let it rest.

Sorry if this was discussed already.

He got his finger stuck in the recycling machine at Goodings Market recycling those Red Bull cans. :taunt:

He had a compound fracture after gouging out of the rough for the 50th time in the week, but he poped it back in and it will be OK in a couple of days.

I expect a top 10. Those green complexes are exactly why I expect a top 10.

He risks diminishing his records, stuff like all-time scoring average and cuts made.

Plus it's not much fun playing like that with so much attention on you. At least Svoboda or whoever else was nearly last know that they won't have every bad shot analysed this week and they can look to improve next week.

I see Tiger as being a lonely, isolated soul with few real friends, if any, and nothing but money and girlfriends for comfort.

In the real world that aint much.

What you think will make you happy, you strive and strive for and once you get it what happens.

Doesn't make you happy at all.

See it Hollywood and in everyday life all the time.

When does Tiger enjoy life?

Tiger may have changed his swing around his injuries. At the time his claim was he wanted to "get better".

Injury may have caused the swing change, but now he's almost 40 and having to hit "thousands" of balls every day is breaking him down even more.

So while injuries may have prompted the change, the change is now likely exacerbating the old injuries, and causing new injuries.

I suspect he still has the mentality that worked for him when he was learning the game as a kid, "hit as many balls as you need to hit until you figure this out", or in his 20s, but the 40 year old body can't do that.

It may be too late for Tiger at this point, but the 40 year old body just can't pound out "thousands" of balls every day and expect to be able to compete for 4 rounds.

Some who saw him at Muirfield say he looked injured. He may well be, or he might just be worn out from trying to learn this new swing.

IMO, every swing he makes with whatever current swing he's trying to master, is taking him farther away from where he needs to be.

FORE RIGHT!!!!

A lot of people are wasting a lot of time on this guy. It's beyond time to move on, no more straws to grasp. Now it's a blister, before it was glutes, and the back and a broken leg and the knees and the broads and a 9 iron to the head.
