That sole looks a lot like the new Callaway PM-Grind!
This is Ping saying "dudes, this is our design!"...
I'm guessing this is an attempt to get the PM Grind out of Hunter Mahan's bag.

Ok, so can anyone be else envision an entire set of these,4-p, with an "inspired by" Eye 2 head shape and grind, but modern CTP tech, softer feel, and the satin finish? I think they would sell a boat load. In fact, I'd go so far as to say you could design your entire line around the Glides - s series, I series, and G series.

Very interesting...When I got my wedges this year, I almost got the Callaway PM grind - it was so versatile around the green it felt like I was cheating. I ended up with the Glide wedges because of the versatility I had with it on full shots. This may have combined the best of both worlds. If so, I might see a 58* in future :smilie_ping:

To be fair, the PM grind was really an adaptation of the Eye 2 grind. Phil played Eye 2 wedges for a long time.

Ok just a couple of questions. I know this grind has been around a while but how much bounce does it have? What are the advantages to playing this grind? Is it pretty versatile for just about everyone? Maybe some dumb questions here but I'm curious. Thanks!

They look awesome. Wish they had more finishes.
Yeah I know what you mean I ove the raw look of my Eye 2 XG, but I read that Ping did reseach and discovered that the chrome finish provides just as much spin but is better at displacing water when playng in wet moist conditions.

I really like the sole of these but can't stand the shape of the eye2. I used to play eye2s when I started playing and the wedges never suited my eye even then. I wish they kept the original glide shape but just adapted the sole grind.

Will this wedge also come with the longer wedge grip that is on the current glide wedges? Was thinking about picking up the pm wedge to replace my eye2xg but I think I'll wait for this.
I'd be surprised if it didn't. The Glide grip is really nice - and IMO all wedges should come with slightly longer grips.

Not sure why Lamkin stopped offering their version, guess it wasn't a big seller.

Love the look of these. Nice combo of an Eye2 grind and more traditional looking shape. I'll have to try at least one loft, maybe more.
OMG! The Callaway PM grind is a straight rip off of the Ping Eye 2 wedge U grind. Callaway is ripping off Ping not the other way around. Ping
Guys....it's called sarcasm. Sorry, I thought it would be apparent.

Anyway, in all seriousness, for a wedge that's not pretty to look at I think Callaway's take on this category of wedge is much cleaner looking. Visually the way that top-line takes a sudden dive at the hosel on the Glide ES just rubs me the wrong way. Ping might have been the first, but I think Callaway "wore it better."

Funny but that's what I love about it. It's just so PING. Unlike Callaway which is just so PING and Scotty Cameron :-)

See that's the thing, I don't think the PM Grind is like a Scotty at all. Yes they took advantage of some cool coloring options, but the practice of porting wedges has been around much longer than Scotty Cameron putters. At least in the wedges there's a functionality to it whereas on Scotty's putters they are purely cosmetic.
