Even though basically I am a 588 and Vokey fan I have several Eye2 and Zing wedges. I also have an K-1 PW at 50* I may slip in from time to time. One of my favorites in the wedge area is a BECU Zing 2 that WRXer @cardoustie gave me a couple of years ago when he came here and we played golf together. I also have  an K-1 1 iron and 2 Zing 1 irons I can still use if it is real windy and the fairways hard.

I like the patina of those copper sets. I had a few BeCu Eye 2 wedges I used to bring on

the course now and then. One of them @BIG STU sent me out of the blue. I almost

didn't want to hit them and wear the patina off the face and expose the shiny still there 

underneath.

 

The steel Eye 2 sets would develop a nice patina as well as they aged. I imagine those

Eye 2 sets will always have a following. A truly iconic iron set.

I had forgotten that. I sent you that when I bent up and rebuilt those S series a few moons back. I actually found that wedge on the junk pile a couple of days before. I thought of you and saved it. I never messed with it and sent it to you with the S series. The main thing was I saved it from a violent destruction and it is in the hands of someone who will cherish it

I have a friend sometimes Shootout partner who is originally from the UK. He has lived here for about 20 years now. He is humorous as heck with his dry British wit. He is also very knowledgeable on the game of golf both old and new school. He has also played a lot of the "bucket list" courses in Europe and has very interesting insight on the courses. He has said many times in his wit that with my game I was born on the wrong side of the big pond that I would play the old school course well

You are like me getting a little long in the tooth so to speak and the SS has slowed. Put you a low kick soft tipped graphite shaft in it. With the head weight it will kick and get it airborne. One of my Eye2 1 irons has a soft r flex steel shaft and I can still hit it about head high. The other one is a KTM stiff and I am searching for a suitable graphite to go in it. One of my many projects on the back burner

Have my late Father's K1's.  I've hit a couple of them out on a golf course.  Bit of handful with the flat soles, sharp leading edge, and stiff steel shafts.  I'll never get rid of them though.  I'd like to find a deal on some KIII's someday.  Stick the Nippon 950 R shafts I have laying around in them.   They had the "contoured" soles.  For S & G's.

I reshafted my Eye2's with some R300 dynamic golds and that made the Pings come to life!

I started out with the original Dynamic shafts from True Temper and then switched to the Gold X100’s when they came out in, I think, the 80’s. Most of my adult career has been on S300’s when I realized I played better and they felt better than the XS ones.  Now at 66 with a poorly rehabbed rotator cuff repair I’m thinking about going to the R400’s.  Time to get off high center. 
 

I tried a set of graphite shafts in Ping ISI’s once. Don’t know if it was the irons or the shafts but couldn’t get back to my Eye 2’s fast enough. Never again. 
 

(I realize this was not a fair test, esp to the club ho experts here, but club appearance & feel preferences, and confidence, are funny things.  Once formed in my mind it’s hard to make that change).

The ISI's came with Z-Z65's.  To much stiffness.  Reshafted with TT DL Gold XP R300 and significantly improved the playability.  Hireko Golf had a stupid cheap deal ($50.00) for new and uncut 4 - SW set.  No brainer.  Have a preference towards tip soft (high bend point) shafts.

since the 1980’s, bridges have concrete areas extending outward from supports, built up underwater river beds or retaining walls built up and encircling bridge supports that have pile driven supports into the riverbed of their own. a ship would run aground, or hit the extended area or retaining wall, not the bridge support itself. big bumpers.

 

knowing the mass of ships using the waterway and their normal speed, they are designed with a 100% safety factor over the structural integrity needed to withstand the energy of a collision.

 

the baltimore bridge was pre-1980’s. probably $3-5 million to upgrade it would have worked.

 

engineers can anticipate, advise and recommend, but non-engineers decide if it gets done.

I'll believe it when I see it with @TiScape and the Blueprints. It's a very slippery slope 

when Ping irons enter a golf bag. Next thing you know it's a hybrid or FW, then maybe 

driver and of course, a putter. Then it's a Ping bag. And then Finau and Theegala and  Hovland your favorite players.

Oh lord, I have three Ping sets in the house right now.  Plus the sets bought for my three sons. Currently carry a very sexy black & white Hoofer Lite bag plus two more much older, torn Hoofers in the garage holding various wedges, putters, drivers all ready for emergency exchanges. Mrs DT has a very nice, shall we call it magenta, Hoofer bag. 
 

Then there’s the Glide wedges, three Eye 2 sand and lob wedges for gods sake,  maybe 3-4 Ping drivers of descending lineage. Two Anser putters -  I think, could be more. They seem to be replicating in the basement bin. 

Currently eying the Blueprint T’s……

 

My wife plays late model Callaway GI irons.     I still love her.

Newer Bridges have "dolphins"  protecting the bridge supports, so that might have been true.

 

My question is this:  Why aren't large container ships like this being escorted out to sea by tug boats, at their expense?
