It’s interesting. Human civilization has made and lost gains in sophistication for thousands of years 

 

The civilization on Santorini (Greek island) had multi story stone and timber homes with full plumbing…3600 BC!

 

4000 years later in Europe people were living in thatched huts and crapping in the woods 🤣

But it’s really the time frames that enabled the construction of many marvels that you might think were impossible thousands of years ago. Until you consider it could take hundreds of years of patience and meticulous tradecraft to build them.

Porsche.  Why on earth do folks look at you like daddy warbucks when you drive one ?   Humans are so damn weird.  I’ll never figure them out.  This little one here grows on me because I love white cars.  And gadgets.  It has gadgets galore.  I either prefer no gadgets. Or so many I cant count. Not in between. 🤣.  But I hate the attention.  Always have hated that about any collector car.  This Porsche is worse. And for the life of me I can’t help but think “ what wrong with you people. This cost half what my pickup truck costs.  Half what your pickup truck cost.  Go away “!  🙃.  I can’t sell it fast enough because of that.  And I kind  of like the little thing.

I've been watching the Netflix "Unexplained" series with Billy Shatner when going to bed lately. Sort of in the vein of Unsolved Mysteries but with that fabulous Shatner campiness. 

 

There're a lot of episodes that dig into historical mysteries but that post reminded me of one - I forget the overall subject matter (they tend to wander a bit) but it was basically going into like ancient structures and engineering. Think before ancient Greece. 

 

There was something very similar to that along with these like massive, multi-ton slabs that had been laid incredibly precisely at the base of a temple. And had been moved uphill from a quarry like a mile or two away.

 

It's insane.

If you slipped or made a mistake you were to say an emphatic "there."  I'm sure he always got a good laugh when he told and retold that story.  My dental assistant heard me say that a couple of times. I saw one some time ago about the Pyramids in Egypt. They had an engineer on there talking about the size and weight of the stones. He was saying that today we do not have a crane large enough to lift those stones that high. He had also stated that there were no known rope and pulley systems as we know them at that time. Really fascinating

Saw another one that was getting into the Sphynx and how there's almost no way to tell how old it actually is, who built it or why. One archeologist noted that there're striations around the base that could only be caused by water erosion.

I saw that one. Theyre called  Geoglyphs. If anyone wants to search the pics.   That one is really crazy if you consider that from the ground it’s truly not possible to “ see “ any of it.  Yet they’re all made with each part to scale for each other.  And some are of animals from other locations , like a monkey for example. No monkeys in the Nazca  dessert

Ancient peeps had far more sophistication in engineering than we think they might.

 

The Parthenon was built 2,500 years ago and is loaded with design and engineering marvels.

 

For example, it’s not built with the columns and walls rising straight up/perpendicular to the ground. They are angled inwards. Otherwise, it would look it out of proportion like the drawing on the upper right.

There have been a couple of DNA mutations dating 10s of thousands of years ages to 10s of millions of years ago. They mark exponential advances in human brain evolution, like reasoning/learning ability and tool development 

 

Since you’d have to assume an “alien” civilization could be hundreds of millions of years old and be capable of bioengineering off the charts

 

Perhaps “they” visited Earth 🌍 a couple of times and made little “tweaks” to our DNA 🧬 to give us a boost here and there ; )

I've heard the concrete used by the Roman's is far superior than anything we use and we cannot figure out how they concocted it.

 

There's a lot of evidence that there was high civilization going back 10- or 15 thousand years. Global in nature too. Evidence of a massive flood, that wiped out much of it's existence. We probably only know fraction of History and we may never piece it together.
