Picked up a Folds of Honor Blue 6x for my Epic SZ driver this weekend. Big thanks to Will at thepeoplesclubs for a smooth transaction! Very impressed so far. Smooth and has a nice kick when loading it up compared to my prior gamer shaft- Tour AD TP-6x. Nice job Fujikura. Love the graphics as well!

Love this feedback, thank you! That's consistent with what we're hearing, and thank you for supporting the Folds of Honor

I currently have a 2017 Pro XLR8 61 stiff in my driver. I love the feel of this but want something tighter while retaining some of the smoother feel. Any thoughts on which Atmos? Was playing AD-TP 6X prior to XLR8 but don't want to swing an X any more. Thanks!

Atmos Blue would fit the bill. Maybe tip a touch to tighten up the shaft for your X flex swing speed.

I was in the exact situation not long ago (only X-flex for me). I tried both the Atmos Blue 6x and the Atmos Black 6x. Preferred the Blue to the Black but they had a pretty similar feel to them. I think that the Blue is the correct answer here and the various Fujikura dealers and employees that I've talked to on the topic of XLR8 vs Atmos have all agreed.

I'm still swapping back and forth between my Atmos Blue and Pro XLR8 61. Atmos is a bit more stable and appears to have slightly better dispersion. The XLR8 has a smoother feel to it and a touch more ball speed. I have not frequency tested them but the Atmos feels a touch stiffer to me than the XLR8. I'd really like to get my hands on an Atmos Blue in 6s for some more testing. To further complicate things in my head though, I've also been swapping back and forth between my 816 DBD and Epic SZ heads.

If you're used to playing an X and want something a little smoother though... I'm betting that the Atmos Blue 6s is going to be your winner.

I also gamed a AD-TP 6x as well prior and got an Atmos Blue 6x and it feels less boardy than the TP6x. If you don't want to stay in the X profile, like the other guys said, maybe tipping an atmos blue 6s might be the ticket! You will love this shaft! I was a Tour AD shaft fanboy prior through and through, but this Atmos shaft is the real deal!

Just finished my Atmos Blue build!

917 F2 16.5

43"

D2 SW

1/2" tipped

70x

:)

Can't wait to give it a tryout!

I have a 7x tipped 1/2" in my Cally 3w. It's real solid! I don't think you will be disappointed.

Spill the beans! Curious on your review.....

The only one I haven't tried is the Red. I have the Black 6x still in my driver from the testing in this thread. Liked the Black so much that I bought a Blue 7x for my 3w. I swing slower by WRX standards...105'ish with the driver, but a bit of an aggressive transition and the 7x fits the bill perfect for me. Shaft feels as smooth as could be and the dispersion is fantastic. Launch is great off the deck and off the tee. Liked the Blue 7x in the 3w so much that I recently picked up a Blue 8x for my 5w...only got 1 round in with it so far, but it looks promising. Put it this way, my home course has a short par 4 that is a very tough driving hole for me that I will almost always hit a 6 or 7 iron off the tee...not lately. I know that I can swing away without fear of hooking one into the pond or pushing it OB.

Does anybody know if the lettering colors differ from the X to the S? I grabbed a 6S on a whim for some testing earlier this week and noticed that the text is a slightly lighter shade of blue than what is used on my 6X (that I bought directly from my preferred Fujikura dealer). Other than the shade of blue, everything looks correct. I haven't pulled the grip yet but I don't always find the factory Fujikura label underneath when I buy a used shaft anyway.

Thought I would add my take.

I was the winner of one of the atmos special edition shafts here. Received a atmos black 6x with green graphics ( looks awesome )!

At first in an epic head I did not care for it too much. But figured out that the head was just too light. Added lead tape etc and eventually got the feel to acceptable level.

Fast forward to a month or so ago . I received a hotnelted heavy 17 m1 440 head. Installed the atmos tipped half inch , And it's quickly becoming the best combo I've ever owned. Dispersion is wonderful. And it's so smooth . Yet I can't over power it. Gives me a nice flat trajectory flight and just feels right. Im not a big numbers guy. But I do require a flight that suits my eye and a feel that gives me confidence. It checks all those boxes off and then some.

Hearing the black will be discontinued due to lack of sales. Any truth?

hmm... dont know... i do know its a spin killer and it suits a player who has a harsh transition..much like the 7.2 TS....but cant imagine discontinuing it ...i cant be the only one who likes it..... maybe others need to add some head weight to get it to 'work" as i did?

Not sure I believe this either. Shaft companies promote multiple shaft lines that suit many different golfers. It wouldn't make sense to remove a low spin, low launch model, as there will always be a group of golfers looking for a profile such as this.

One will always sell better than the rest of the family and when companies release shafts these days, there is low, mid and high launch model so it does not make sense to remove 1 leg of the triangle.

Now my question is what the next limited edition is, black for the Masters, blue for the Folds, so what is the red then :)

My ATMOS is the best shaft I have ever had in ANY driver head.

Just a quick follow up to this one. I pulled the grip and found the factory Fujikura label. They must use slightly different colors from shaft to shaft? Maybe from flex to flex?

A little Atmos vs. Speeder Evo II action.

I have not been hitting it so well last few times out, but these 2 were pretty good, and they were damn near identical strikes...at least as close as I am going to get. Identical ballspeeds, but the Atmos launched a touch higher, and spun a ton less. On firmer fairways that should definitely be a few more yards. Both shots were dead center cut of the fairway, but I think that the dispersion on slight mis-hits is better with the Atmos.

Data is from my FS Mevo and Balls used were Maxfli U/6 tour x and the metallic dots were used to get a more accurate spin.

I currently have a 2017 Pro XLR8 61 stiff in my driver. I love the feel of this but want something tighter while retaining some of the smoother feel. Any thoughts on which Atmos? Was playing AD-TP 6X prior to XLR8 but don't want to swing an X any more. Thanks!

I was in the exact situation not long ago (only X-flex for me). I tried both the Atmos Blue 6x and the Atmos Black 6x. Preferred the Blue to the Black but they had a pretty similar feel to them. If you're used to playing an X and want something a little smoother though... I'm betting that the Atmos Blue 6s is going to be your winner.

So I put my own advise to the test and grabbed an Atmos Blue 6s that was tipped 3/4". I played them side by side today and really preferred the tipped 6s. They were both great but I have a pretty smooth transition and the 6s had a slightly better feel to it. It may have just been the occasional swing as well but I did lose the 6x to the right a few times, that wasn't an issue with the 6s. In fairness, I did pull one with the 6s but it ended up only a few paces into the rough.

Compared to the XLR8, I'd say that the Atmos does play roughly 1/2 flex stiffer so going a full flex softer and tipping 1/2" - 3/4" is about perfect.

I'll spend some time comparing the two on a launch monitor but, thus far, the 6s is looking pretty good.

We have a very similar Driver + 3W set up, and I could not agree more. This combo has far and away been the best I've ever had, and has honestly been the first time I haven't even considered another driver set up in my bag. Furthermore, the Blue 8x in the M2 Tour head is just incredible, honestly probably my favorite club/shaft I've ever owned.
