If its been brought up, apologies, however a big hats off to former Oakmont HP(now he's just a regular dues paying member, lol)/current Seminole HP Bob Ford, the annual Starter for the Men's' US Open.

 

A little known story about Bob, though I was told that it was brought up in an article prior to last year's Open, and that is that he currently has about 45-50 former Assts. in HP jobs and every single year down at the Merchandising Show in Orlander, he hosts a dinner and a golf outing for them. He also Places a telephone call to each on his/her Birthday(He picked this up from Pete, though Pete "only" had 37 former Assts, lol). Not a text message. Not an e-mail.

Bob gave Richard one for his birthday and he was Playing in the swat and was at another club and someone took it off of his putter as it sat at the back entrance to the Men's locker room with 15-20 other bags after they'd finished Playing and were having drinks. He was convinced that it was a younger kid and has been on the lookout ever since because those are indeed rare. A member up at Richard's club offered him some limited edition Scotty putter cover and Richard laughed because he doesn't collect them, he doesn't even use or even care about the ones that he has and I know that that cover from Bob meant the world to him :) Madison
