CBS gets a massive FAIL.

 

It literally takes 30 minutes to convert things from the Golf Channel to CBS. From changing the look in the booth, to personnel to the graphics, etc. It's why it doesn't happen always when it's staying in the Golf Channel/NBC/Comcast family.

For what it's worth (very little) go to CBS.com scroll to the bottom and find the link to provide broadcast feedback and tell them what you think of their rbc coverage. CBS boned us in the USA.

Sky actually showed CBS coverage which had a "recorded earlier" message in the bottom left corner for when they would show it in US later.

 

Glad we only have 1 golf network in UK and Ireland that gets GC and CBS

Ive been watching a half hour and have seen literally 12 golf swings.

2 shots, commercial...repeat.

This Gary McCord is soooooooo f’ing annoying.... he thinks he’s a comedian on every shot, good or bad. He has to make a joke on everything. Watching golf on Mute is better than CBS coverage.

Imagine the companies that paid CBS for advertisement time during this tournament and then they bone them by running the program to a fractional audience. Seriously how many like me aren't watching because it's a foregone conclusion.

Seemingly unlike most here, I avoided all news and updates and watched the recorded coverage of the final round as if it were live.

 

Kind of tough watching a bunch of B players who were afraid to get the ball to the hole. From the first hole you could see that the high humidity and cloud cover were keeping the greens slower than what most players expected, but time after time guys were coming up short, sometimes woefully.

 

Si Woo Kim could've won this thing going away, but he had no conviction on the greens. Most of his challengers faded away, which gave the few guys who played well a chance to make big moves.

 

Anyway, big congrats to Satoshi Kodaira, who admitted he wasn't even thinking about winning when he teed off earlier. It has been a dream of his to play full time on the PGA TOUR, and we'll see what he makes of it.

 

Also a big week (money, of course, and Ryder Cup points) for Bryson DeChambeau. I'd like to see as young a team as possible do battle against the Europeans in France.

At some point they said the greens were not rolled or cot as short today ... due to calls for very high winds today

CBS's telecast was the worst golf telecast I have ever seen. I recorded it, and waited 35 minutes before I started watching it, so I could FF through the commercials. I caught up with the "live" telecast in less than 2 hours. That's something like 25% of the telecast being commercials. And that doesn't count the time when they haven't cut away from the booth for various promotions.

 

When the final group was coming down the last few holes, CBS several times missed shots that happened during the commercial break. It was barely watchable even with the FF. I can't imagine being able to watch this telecast in real time.
