Best equipment change for you this year

Rogue 10.5 Oban Devotion 6.

I was fit a few years back into the Devotion but strayed to Diamana D+, Rogue Silver, Tensei White Pro over the past 2 years and had good success but found a Devotion for cheap and tried it out and it was unbelievable for my driving.

Trackman did not show much difference between the shafts but out on the course the Devotion just works for my swing.

Putter change.

Been playing w These double bend shaft, largely face balance mallets and having putted most of his life with an anser style, he just never made it happen so he switched to a longneck anser style and it has been a great change. It’s been a below avg golf year for JP and the putter change is really only positive....kinda sad, he knows....

Putter change for me too.

Finally accepted that although I love the look of scottys, I putt badly with them.

The odyssey o works 1w tank, has been a fantastic find! Looks good, feels nice, suits my stroke and distance control is great.

Cleveland putter. Nothing sexy, in fact way less attractive than my previous Odyssey blade.

Thing is, I used the putting stick pro and took a bunch of putters out to the green to see which one - based on my eye and swing - I could roll dead straight the most often. It was the Cleveland, and it has definitely proved its worth.

I had a fun year with my driver this year, started this spring with Callaway BB Alpha 816 DBD(wanted to update) -> Srixon 565(lost distance compared to DBD) -> Srixon 765(gained distance back but lost control) -> Mizuno ST180(added distance with decent control) ->Srixon 785(absolute stripe show!). Then broke my black assassin 816 alpha 3w(I was devastated) I believe I have found a replacement with an epic sz head but only time will tell.

I've actually got a few but I'll keep it at just two for now. I put an XCaliber SuperLite shaft in a new F8+ head. It weighed in at C7 when I went to the range to experiment with how I was going to weight it. I hit it so well at C7 that I left it that way. I've never hit a driver so long and straight. It knocked my beloved '16 M2 out of the bag.

The second one was a Seemore putter. I'd never even looked at one before the day I ordered this one, an Original black Si5. I knew I had aiming issues but this putter has transformed my putting, especially from 6' and in.

I tested the G400 LST on the range didnt like the sound or the feel but the result was there so I pull the trigger and ordered one hot melted for the feel and sound. Turned out to be the best driver I've hit since titleist 909d2.

love the $-taper in my iron too.

Picked up a set of NEW PSi Tour heads and put together a set 4-PW with Recoil shafts. 4-5 irons have 110's the rest are 125's. F4's soft stepped once. Also New MD heads shafted with 125 Recoil 8 iron shafts. Must have worked my index went from 6.7 to a low of 3.2 Best summer of golf in at leasty 15 years! Finished the years with a 3.8. THREE full shots difference in one summer.... My golf buddies all asked if I was gonna switch these irons next year like I seem to every year? I dun't think so!!!

upgrading my driver

replaced my ping answer with fuji fuel with ping G400 LST with hazards yellow

only dishartening part was going for a fitting and was only given 4 options in shafts to try at a ping fitting day

but hitting with flightscope made up for it a little bit. was fortunate the PX hazards yellow produces great numbers

switched golf balls from Z start to pro V1 due to lack of availability when z star went on flash sale

going back to z star next year if I don't find a ball that stands out before then.

This year I spent a lot of effort on finding the right grips to work for my desired setup, stance, swing plane, etc. Changed putter grip to Super Stroke SS2R, iron grips to GP CP2 mid, wedge grips to GP CP2 Standard, and wood grips to Lamkin REL 3Gen 360 mid.

The grip change on my Cobra One Length irons helped them become permanent in the bag, then I reconfigured the rest of the bag around the distance range of the irons.

Getting the TM High Toe wedges (58 and 64). With really firm greens the 64 allows me to play all sorts of shots I couldn't before. They've changed my short game. Played a 4 day tournament and was 81% getting up and down and didn't hit more than 9 greens any of the 4 days.

Think I've raved about a few this year but there's been two late developments after end of regular season:

1) S18 wedges - incredible

2) ST180 3 wood set to 16 degrees

Game changers. I've loved TM woods since I took up the game a few years ago and recently having tried the ST180 three wood I cannot believe just how much further it flies. Don't lose it right on poor strikes. In average strikes it's 7 yards further and when absolutely nutted it's creeping into driver numbers.

Sadly the ST180 driver hasn't been as consistent so I've bought another M4 (if it ain't broke I need to stop fixing it)

After seeing how great the three wood has been I picked up the driver but my M4 was just so consistent. The tinkering continues...

Putter fitting and subsequent putter change. proper putter grip and size for me and putter that fit eye and posture better. Went from Scotty Cameron Futura 5w to Bettinardi Antidote 1. Found the bottom of the cup more often with higher percentage inside 10 feet and lag putting feel increased dramatically.
